Role
Who you are
- A Bachelor’s degree in HCI, Interaction Design, Design, or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience (5+ years) in UX/UI design, with a strong track record of delivery innovative consumer social experiences
- Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional design skills and user-centered design thinking. Direct Safety or Accounts experience is a plus but not required
- Strong systems thinking with the ability to understand and design for complex workflows and interactions
- Ability to balance business objectives, user needs, and technical constraints in design solutions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- A Leader that will promote quality and consistency across our system, taking the lead to solve tough problems
- Detailed, composing and implementing holistic and user-friendly processes and documentation
- Expert, You are a Figma master, guiding others to get the most out of the tool and continuously upping the ante on quality
- Collaborative, sharing work early and often and encouraging peers to look for constructive feedback from their manager, partners, teams, and the Product Design team
- A Systems Thinker that advocates for holistic and connected user experiences
- A compelling storyteller who can articulate new concepts clearly through verbal, written, and visual communication
- Investigative and inquisitive about product goals from both a company's and user's perspective, promoting a learning culture both within the Product Design team and the larger Roblox organization
- Creative in innovating to produce components and patterns that are cohesive with the rest of Roblox's products

What the job involves
- As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll be a key member of the Safety design team, playing a critical role in building the systems that keep Roblox safe, civil, and inclusive for a global community
- You’ll focus on creating platform-level designs that support users in moments of need and uphold community standards across Roblox
- Roblox’s mission is to connect a billion people with optimism and civility. The Safety organization is at the heart of that mission, working to ensure everyone has seamless and secure access to accounts tied to their identity
- We also work on detecting, removing, and preventing problematic content and behavior at scale, platform compliance with global regulations, and providing a healthy, inclusive environment for users of all ages
- You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across product, engineering, and research, shaping the platform's approach to trust and safety through thoughtful design
- This is an opportunity to work at the systems level—defining how safety is embedded across Roblox and designing reusable frameworks that power our vision of civil immersive online communities
- Create clear, compelling, and empathetic experiences that help users understand community standards, account status, and pathways to positive engagement
- Design for diverse audiences—young users, teens, adults, brands, and developers—ensuring educational moments are accessible, age-appropriate, and effective
- Collaborate with the Foundation Design Systems team to develop scalable, reusable patterns for across safety features
- Use data, research, and experimentation to develop a deep understanding of user behavior—especially in moments of confusion, conflict, or rule-breaking—to inform design decisions and improve reform outcomes.
- Partner cross-functionally with policy, product, and engineering teams to ensure quality, strategic alignment,and best-in-class user experience
- Help define the UX strategy and roadmap for education and reform experiences that guide users toward safe, civil behavior on Roblox

In addition to standard games, the platform offers virtual worlds and other experiences to explore and interact with. Its platform provides an online ecosystem for millions to create, socialize, chat, and explore immersive experiences with friends. In fact, in the US its used by two-thirds of children aged 9 to 12.
While the platform does face scrutiny over users safety (particularly given its young audience) the company's efforts to strengthen parental controls and open dialogue through initiatives like its new Parents Council signal a growing commitment to addressing these challenges.
