Role
Who you are
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in the industry
- Prior experience as a Software Engineer in a professional environment
- Ideally you will be familiar with Python but we are open to any object oriented programming language. Experience with AWS or Databricks is also a plus
- Able to work from the Edinburgh office for a minimum of 2 days per week
- Ability to write high-quality, object-oriented code
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrable knowledge of development best practices and experience working in an agile team
- Ability to explore complex problem spaces objectively from multiple points of view
- Ability to learn new things quickly
- [Bonus] Linux proficiency, basic shell scripting and a solid grasp of systems level programming
- [Bonus] Specific experience in or knowledge of financial data systems

- We are currently seeking a Software Engineer to join our Framework Integration and Tooling Team
- In this role, you will have the opportunity to use the latest technology stacks to build the next generation of global, scalable, portfolio data ingestion
- It is the core backbone for portfolio analytics, insights, and reporting that the entire Addepar platform depends on

The platform aggregates portfolio, market, and client data in one place, allowing financial professionals to analyse and visualise the data they need.
Addepar currently tracks around $6 trillion of assets serving over 800 clients, including individual advisers, family offices, and large institutions such as AllianceBernstein, Bartlett Wealth Management, and Morgan Stanley.
The multi-unicorn company has been pursuing global expansion, opening its first office outside of the United States in Scotland in 2021 and a new London office in late 2022.
