Who you are
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science or other relevant fields (optional)
- Some experience in Python, regular expressions, and scripting languages (e.g., Bash, TCL, Expect)
- Experience with SOAP and REST API development
- Understanding of networking and databases; familiarity with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt is desirable
- Strong analytical, creative, and troubleshooting skills
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Junior Python Developer to our team based in London
- You will be developing on a Python based platform that enables euNetworks to activate end-to-end customer services with no intervention from operational teams
- The platform is integrated with Salesforce APIs to pass requests and outcomes to the network, configuring, de-configuring and updating routers in the network
- Cloud Service providers are a key part of the existing integration with several already having been automated through the platform – Azure, AWS, Google, Oracle and IBM
- Open Source automation tools are a key part of the architecture and you will be responsible overall for the extension of functionalities and overall design of the software
- Develop and maintain network automation software, including comprehensive documentation, version control, and repository management
- Collaborate with the Salesforce development team to design and implement interfaces between Salesforce (SFDC) and live network platforms
- Evaluate and integrate third-party network automation tools with existing euNetworks systems
- Ensure adherence to ISMS secure development practices and organizational standards
- You will be reporting into the Director for Digital Enablement and be part of an Agile team of 5 people (aside you, 3 mid/senior developers and 1 business analyst)

The world’s usage of the internet has changed dramatically over the last decade, with traditional broadband connections being rapidly replaced with fiberoptic networking. Whilst this presents the infrastructure necessary to support domestic connections for high-spec networking services such as cloud computing, setting up oversea and long-haul fibreoptic connections is a huge challenge requiring vast infrastructural development.
EU Networks provides bandwidth infrastructure services to connect finance, wholesale, data, and other industries, developing the necessary infrastructure to form networks through dark fibre, metro wavelengths, colocation and long haul wavelengths. The company currently focuses on developing intercity network connections across 53 major European cities and overseas long-haul connections between the UK and Europe.
Whilst fiberoptic infrastructure has become commonplace in recent years, such networks focus on domestic networking and thus limit connection speeds between cities, countries, and continents. Through its long-haul bandwidth infrastructural innovations, EU Networks aims to solve this problem and future-proof high-bandwidth networking for the global connectivity of cloud computing and other high-speed networking innovations.
