Role
Who you are
- As we scale rapidly globally, we’re looking for a practical, business-minded attorney to join our lean, AI-enabled Legal team
- This role is for someone who thrives in fast-moving, data-rich environments, can partner closely with commercial teams, and has the judgment to balance speed with risk
- JD with strong academic credentials; admitted to practice in the US
- At least 2-3 years of legal experience in a top-tier law firm and/or in-house, ideally in high-growth technology, ecommerce, ad-tech, or mar-tech environments
- Proven experience negotiating complex commercial and data-related agreements
- Working knowledge of privacy and data protection laws (US + GDPR)
- Skilled in simplifying complexity—clear, concise legal drafting and advice is your superpower
- Strong project management skills; thrives handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment
- Collaborative and solutions-oriented, with the ability to build trust with stakeholders across geographies and levels
- High degree of initiative, sound judgment
- Experience implementing or managing CLM systems (Ironclad preferred) a strong plus
What the job involves
- You’ll be a key advisor to Rokt’s commercial and operational teams, helping us scale responsibly while unlocking impact
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of agreements with customers and suppliers, including SaaS, ecommerce, ad-tech/mar-tech, data processing, licensing, and strategic partnerships
- Provide commercially astute counsel to Rokt’s global go-to-market, product, and partnerships teams, balancing risk with business velocity
- Stay on top of evolving legal and regulatory frameworks—including consumer protection, privacy (US state laws, GDPR), advertising, IP, AI governance, and cyber-security—and apply them pragmatically to our business
- Support company-wide initiatives in compliance, corporate governance, risk management, template development, and training
- Partner with Finance, People, and Operations to streamline contracting processes and accelerate deal flow, including through automation and CLM (Ironclad) optimization
- Lean in as needed to other areas like litigation, corporate governance, and regulatory issues
Our take
eCommerce marketing company Rokt is helping brands leverage the power of good timing. With Rokt, brands can present their customers with AI-curated offers and messages at every stage in their transaction, at tailored times of the day, or to market themselves at the point of transaction on other major eCommerce sites.
The idea is that “transaction moments” are when shoppers are most inclined to engage further with the brand or its products - the success of Rokt’s clients, and the runaway success of Rokt itself, show that it's successfully cracked it.
Rokt has a strong client base that includes giants like Groupon, GoDaddy, and Disney, and after hitting Unicorn status, it is eyeing up a US IPO. This should come as no surprise - the surge in eCommerce trade over recent years has led to most companies investing in tools to stay competitive.
Rokt has expanded its tool suite since it first started up, and will be focused on continuing to innovate to keep ahead of the MarTech pack, and abreast of changing demand in the rapidly shifting market. The eCommerce marketing tech sector has ballooned to a $120B global operation - Rokt is positioned comfortably to keep ahead.
