Who you are

You have coding experience in C++ and at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, LUA, bash, etc)
You have native-level language skills in Tamil and are fluent in English
You are interested in learning while designing efficient architectures, algorithms, and interfaces
You enjoy working on hard open-ended challenges and improving existing solutions
You’re comfortable working in a Linux environment
You are a current student at a German University

What the job involves

We are looking for a native Tamil language speaker and software engineering werkstudent interested in creating user-friendly products using C++
You will learn and use the most advanced technologies in the fields of natural language processing (NLP), natural language understanding (NLU), natural language generation (NLG), speech technologies, and search technologies… all built in-house at SoundHound
Leverage your coding skills and your knowledge of the Tamil language
Work from a modern office located on Friedrichstraße - in the heart of Berlin Mitte
Develop Conversational AI, leveraging a powerful domain-oriented development paradigm
Implement and scale the core code base, solving both algorithmic and design challenges
Write code that interacts with third-party API’s
Collaborate with engineers working on a variety of languages
This is a part-time role, 20 hours per week

Although taking a hit from the poor economic climate, alongside many of its fellows, the company has secured post-IPO funds. And it paid off its post-IPO debt in 2024, making it lighter on its feet as it captures new markets and customers in the voice-enabled AI sector.
