Senior Platform Engineer, Invitae

• Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience
• Proven experience working with Kubernetes in a production environment (3+ years)
• Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, containers)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• A passion for learning and staying up-to-date with new technologies

Desirable

• As a Senior Platform Engineer on the Invitae Cloud team, you will build new platform capabilities, support our existing customers, and help set the direction for cloud native technologies at Invitae
• Engineers on our platform team come from a variety of backgrounds; including software engineering, DevOps, and site reliability
• We are looking for engineers who bias towards automation and systems design with a dash of production support
• Design, deploy, and manage highly available and scalable Kubernetes clusters on [insert cloud provider (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)]
• Automate deployments and rollbacks using tools like Helm and GitOps workflows
• Implement monitoring and alerting solutions for the Kubernetes platform
• Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to Kubernetes deployments and infrastructure
• Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in the Kubernetes ecosystem, including container orchestration tools and best practices
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure a smooth and efficient development lifecycle
• Contribute to infrastructure as code (IaC) practices and templates
• Continuously improve the platform by identifying and implementing optimizations
