Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate has successfully partnered with enterprise (i.e. Fortune 500) customers in a start-up environment and is excited to make a large impact at a fast-growing company
- You are an ambitious sales hunter with a successful track record of bringing in new logos and closing large, enterprise deals
- Deep expertise selling enterprise software in the infrastructure space (database experience preferred)
- Strong relationships with top companies in the Central U.S. territory
- Full-cycle tech sales experience, from pipeline generation to closing skills
- Coachability - tremendous desire to learn about distributed SQL and constantly improve in a “no-egos” environment
- Entrepreneurial spirit - you’re willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done
What the job involves
- As a member of our Americas Sales Team, you will have the opportunity to own key accounts in the Central region
- Bring in new logos, helping build the foundation of this geography
- Meet/exceed your sales quota
- Own your franchise: prospecting, discovery, pricing, quoting, negotiating, and closing the deal
- Manage product demonstrations with the help of Sales Engineering
- Partner with Marketing to generate demand
- As a member of our Americas Sales Team, you will have the opportunity to own key accounts in the region of California and Arizona
Our take
Traditional IT stacks and database solutions have rapidly become antiquated in recent years due to a surge in demand for cloud-native applications. SQL databases are typically the standard format for managing enterprise data, but integrating and scaling this infrastructure within the ever-changing field of cloud-based applications presents serious challenges.
Yugabyte develops a cloud-native and open-source SQL product named YugabyteDB, a database system that is designed to be easily scalable, flexible and resilient when integrated within cloud-based applications. Through PostgreSQL compatibility, automated data recovery and high computing power, the startup claims that its database solution reduces downtime, optimizes security, and reduces increases compatible infrastructure options.
With the migration from legacy database systems to cloud-based solutions a necessity rather than an option for many enterprises, Yugabyte has made a smart move by providing a flexible and accessible solution to integrate familiar SQL databases within a cloud-based setup. Its range of strategic partnerships and product development has the company well set to see further growth.
