Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; CPA preferred
- Strong understanding of SaaS business metrics and KPIs; experience in SaaS FP&A is a significant asset
- Exceptional numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with experience building complex financial models
- Clear, concise communicator with excellent verbal and written storytelling skills
- Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of Adaptive and Looker is an asset
- Self-motivated, independent, and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Experience partnering with Product & Engineering teams is an asset
What the job involves
- The Senior FP&A Business Partner will play a critical role in driving our reporting, analysis, and insights to guide our business leaders
- As part of the larger Strategic Finance team, the FP&A team is focused on delivering value through strategic, operational, and financial planning by providing data-driven insights while ensuring alignment between business goals and financial outcomes
- The ideal candidate will partner closely with Product & Engineering and other functional leaders to provide actionable financial insights into areas such as R&D investment, resource allocations, product performance, and cost efficiency
- This position requires comprehensive involvement in month-end reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and KPI tracking, with a specific focus on SaaS metrics and a proactive approach to influencing strategic decisions
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the budgeting process and ongoing forecasting efforts for Product & Engineering and other teams, including annual, quarterly, and monthly updates
- Track and forecast relevant cost drivers, such as cloud infrastructure spend, headcount costs, and product development investments
- Ensure that budgeting and forecasting processes align with the company's strategic priorities
- Financial Analysis & Insights:
- Conduct in-depth analyses to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in financial projections, providing actionable insights
- Perform variance analyses between actuals and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities to improve financial performance
- Provide actionable insights on unit economics, ROI on product initiatives, and cost-efficiency metrics
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Monitor and develop KPIs, identifying trends and refining metrics in collaboration with operational leaders
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and timeliness
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate financial accuracy and ensure strong source-of-truth reporting
- Business Partnering:
- Act as the primary finance partner for Product & Engineering leadership and other department leaders
- Support strategic initiatives with financial guidance on product roadmaps, engineering resource allocation, and cloud cost management
- Conduct scenario analyses to assess the financial implications of new product launches, feature rollouts, and engineering investments

The home healthcare market is growing due to the ageing population, a global shortage of care workers and a shift to value-based reimbursement. AlayaCare's end-to-end software platform for care providers allows staff to manage the entire client lifecycle, from referrals and intake to billing and payroll. It helps back-office processes run more efficiently, allowing staff to focus on outcomes instead of paperwork.
AlayaCare's platform aims to deliver better patient outcomes and lower costs for providers, reducing both client intake times and resubmissions. This approach has earned the company a large client base of hundreds of home care and assistance firms including Nurse Next Door, Home Instead and Bayada Home Health Care.
The company was not immune to the general downturn in the tech sector in 2022, and slowed growth as a result. That said, AlayaCare made a series of moves towards a more sustainable business model which have seen it come out the other side in a good position. It has now raised additional support to integrate AI into its health record platform.
