Who you are

5+ years of related marketing experience
Experience managing Instagram and Facebook for B2B, tech, or SaaS brands
Working knowledge of how social media content and campaigns differ across markets to meet the needs of local audiences and cultures
Familiarity with analytics tools and how to translate performance metrics into actionable takeaways
Working knowledge of social advertising and how to align organic and paid strategy
A passion for marketing and staying up-to-date on industry and platform news
An eye for detail, down to the last character, image crop, and line break. While the majority of the role won’t be focused on content production, you should have a background in creative writing or design
Working knowledge or familiarity with Google Suite, Asana, and Figma is a bonus

What the job involves

Develop global strategies for Instagram and Facebook to position them for maximum impact as part of the customer journey
Be fluent in your channels' latest features and trends and create POVs, test scenarios, and other experiments and optimizations
Define best-in-class content for the channels working across teams to produce content and, sometimes, drive content production yourself
Develop and lead content and channel guidelines, management best practices, and channel governance
Partner with local market teams on creative ideation around reactive social media content opportunities and raise the visibility and impact of their work to other teams worldwide
Maintain regular, asynchronous communication with market teams on governance, best practices, and project deadlines and deliverables
Help scale our production efforts by creating templates and standardizing formats, tools, etc
Set measurement frameworks for the channels and establish benchmarks
Deliver monthly channel, campaign, and tactical reports to key organizational stakeholders
Work cross-functionally with the Content & Web team and other Marketing functions to evangelize and integrate your channels into broader marketing initiatives

Block is a financial services technology company comprising of Square, Cash App, Spiral, TIDAL, and TBD. Its biggest brand, Square, offers hardware and software for small to medium-sized businesses enabling them to manage the entire payment lifecycle. It functions similarly to Shopify and Stripe, but has paired online payment processing with physical devices such as registers, payment terminals, and mobile card readers.

The business was originally founded as Square in 2009 by Jack Dorsey of Twitter fame. Already well-established with SMEs all over the globe, Square has significantly benefited from the increased demand for mobile payment systems. Its order management feature remains a go-to tool for small businesses that otherwise didn't have the proper infrastructure in place when demand for home delivery surged.

Square rebranded as Block in December 2021, with the Square brand name remaining in place for their seller business. The company has since come under fire for its security practices, facing lawsuits in relation to a major breach of CashApp user data, and in 2024 announced plans to reduce its workforce in order to cut costs. Despite these setbacks, there is every chance the business will move past this, though it may take some time to rebuild trust in its product.
