What the job involves
- You will act as the expert on all people & company culture matters as well as help build the vision & roadmap for talent management and employee experience across our HQ, Customer Experience, Retail and Fulfillment Center teams
- This role requires a strong leader who is comfortable interacting with executive leadership but is also a builder who is excited about the opportunity to roll up their sleeves
- This role will report into the COO/CFO and will have 1-2 direct reports
- Manage the employee experience from end to end including building the talent & recruitment pipeline to refining the onboarding & training experience to establishing the ongoing retention & engagement programs
- Lead the planning, strategy and goal setting within HR including the establishment of new talent and culture programs that ensure Cuyana continues to be a motivating & engaging environment for our employees as we grow & scale
- Be the in house resident expert on all human resource matters including compliance with all legal standards and have strong judgment to ensure that all high priority matters are elevated appropriately within the organization
- Establish metrics that help us ensure that we continue to deliver on our unique employer value proposition and that help us constantly improve in every area of people operations
- Serve as a high visibility leader internally and externally and partner cross functionally to ensure best in class employee experience
- Be a champion of our Cuyana values and our unique employer value proposition
- Give Back - at Cuyana we help each other out especially during the peak season at retail and community volunteer events
Our take
Cuyana sells premium sustainable women’s fashion items, predominantly leather and loungewear. Its items are available online or in a number of brick-and-mortar locations in the US, as well as at a travelling showroom.
The company wants to disrupt fast fashion by calling on consumers to buy less, but buy better. It’s a large task to undertake, but Cuyana appears to be making great headway. Already, 40% of its sales are from repeat buyers.
For further growth, the company will be banking on this continued loyalty as well as more visibility in the mainstream. Keeping true to its sustainability focus, it also launched launched a resale programme, where fashion lovers can buy, sell and donate unwanted garments.
