- 6+ years in Strategic Finance/BizOps, including 3+ years experience with B2B Go-to-Market business models
- Foundational experience in investment banking, private equity, or management consulting preferred
- Experience with consumption-based business models is a meaningful plus
- Proven track record of driving business outcomes through data analytics and financial insights, with expert-level forecasting and financial modeling skills
- Proficiency in SQL and Looker (or similar BI tools)
- Fervor for B2B business models and the broader market landscape
- Thrive in an environment where you are able to work autonomously and solve ambiguous problems
What the job involves
- We’re seeking a Financial Planning & Strategy Senior Analyst (FP&S) to lead strategic initiatives and drive business results across our Channel Partnerships business
- In this high-impact role, you’ll serve as the go-to finance partner, collaborating with cross-functional leads and influencing decision-making at the highest levels—including regular interaction with VP and C-suite executives
- Ownership: Serve as the primary finance partner to cross-functional leads across Channel Partnerships, including teams from Business Development, Product, and Marketing, building trusted relationships and influencing decisions with strategic financial insights
- Revenue Management: Develop reporting and forecasting that provide a fundamental understanding of our business drivers and actionable insight into opportunities to improve business performance
- Strategy: Cultivate an ongoing POV on our existing and potential partner landscape. Quantitatively validate what is driving success in our partner tactics and evolve our partner playbook
- Deal Structuring & Executive Approvals: Structure partnerships to mutually align incentives and economics. Example deal components include revenue-share, depth of product integration, and exclusivity
- Own the business case and approval process when deal approvals are required by executive leadership
- Partner Pricing & Promotions: Create pricing promotions and preferred partner pricing to drive customer acquisition and revenue outcomes
- Insights: Proactively deliver data-driven insights and recommendations that inform go-to-market tactics, product features & experiments, and other cross-functional roadmaps
- Planning: Drive the long-range and annual planning processes - defining strategic priorities, goals, OKRs, and budgets
Our take
Checkr addresses the unpleasant and time consuming process of background checks so that companies using on-demand employees can make safer, more informed hiring decisions in less time. Background checks are a critical part of the hiring process, and CEO Daniel Yannisse noticed that they were painfully slow, resulting in loss of work for candidates and productivity downturns for employers.
Before Checkr entered the market in 2014 with its innovative AI technology and a solid $50m in venture capital funding, companies were waiting upwards of two weeks for their checks. Checkr substantially reduces this time frame and has grown to receive a $5 billion valuation.
Checkr has accelerated growth by making several highly advantageous acquisitions of competitor companies GoodHire and Inflection. As the world of work embraces diversity and inclusion, the company announced an end-to-end service for candidates wishing to expunge their criminal records, furthering the company’s ‘fair chance’ mission and clearing 1000s of candidates for free since 2021. New products launched at the end of 2023 include Checkr Pay (providing access to payment right after a shift) and Checkr Onboard (unified onboarding processes), exemplifying how Checkr is keeping pace with a rapidly changing, flexible, and mobile-first workforce.
