Role
Who you are
- You have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering or a comparable field of study
- You have a good understanding of energy distribution systems and electrical power grids
- You have experience in the management of IT projects
- You have experience with grid modelling in power flow calculations and/or geo-information systems (GIS)
- You have at least basic understanding of ETL processes, i.e., data integration processes
- You have good Python and SQL (preferably Postgres) skills
- You enjoy teamwork and are motivated to work in an innovative and fast paced environment
- Your working style is characterized by a structured and result-oriented way of thinking
- You have excellent communication skills and can motivate and engage your team
- You are fluent in English and German
What the job involves
- As Project Engineer (f/m/d) Smart Grids, you will be part of our Customer Implementation team, which is responsible for the whole implementation process of new customers
- The implementation includes the coordination of external and internal stakeholders as well as the technical setup of the Intelligent Grid Platform and a successful data integration
- In your role, you will combine project management with hands-on technical execution to make sure that the customer can tap the software's full potential
- You are responsible for managing our implementation projects with distribution grid operators and utilities
- You create data integration concepts based on customer requirements, source systems (e.g. GIS, ERP, Asset Management, Billing, Grid Simulation Software) and detailed data analysis
- You implement custom software interfaces using the existing data integration framework to ensure a successful import of customer data
- You manage the provisioning of the platform to the customer together with site reliability engineers (SRE)
- You provide insights to the customers in order to help improve data quality
- You support the strategic developmment of our products
Our take
As the world transitions to sustainable energy, millions of new wind energy systems are being integrated into power grids. As well as the number of new consumer solutions, such as electric charging stations is also rapidly increasing, and the integration of these new systems is putting a strain on distribution grids.
Envelio is a cloud-based smart grid platform providing a solution to this challenge. The Cologne-based company has developed the Intelligent Grid Platform (IGP), a software assistance system that transforms power grids into digital, flexible interactive smart grids. Through IGP grid operation management can be carried out digitally at a quicker, more cost-effective pace.
Born out of the Institute of High Voltage Technology at the RWTH Aachen, Envelio has since grown a steady customer base for itself and expanded on an international scale. Recognised as a clean-tech software company, Envelio is driving the change to sustainable energy.
