Role
Who you are
- 6+ years of experience in construction project management, implementation, deployments, or applications with at least 3 years in a senior or lead role
- Track record of successfully managing complex construction projects, particularly those involving advanced technology or robotics
- Preferred experience with robotics, automation, or other technology solutions in construction or manufacturing
- Strong project management skills, including proficiency in project management software (e.g. Asana, Jira, Notion etc.)
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams
- Familiarity with other construction software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, Procore etc
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances, prioritize competing demands, and make informed decisions quickly to drive organizational and project success
- Understanding of construction processes, safety standards, and compliance requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Robotics, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Bonus Point Certifications:
- CAPM or PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or similar project management credentials
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
What the job involves
- We are now looking for a Senior Implementation Manager to onboard and grow our largest, most complex accounts at their inception
- You will play a critical role in the successful deployment of our FieldPrint Platform on construction sites across the United States
- You will oversee all aspects of the implementation process, including onsite training
- You will ensure the seamless integration of our solutions, manage client relationships, and drive project success from start to finish
- You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer support to ensure that our systems meet client needs and project timelines
- This position is remote, allowing you to work from home, and is estimated to require 50% travel
- It is preferable that you reside near a major airport in the Central or Central/Eastern US, e.g. the Chicago Metropolitan area
- Provide onsite training and post-deployment support to clients, ensuring they are successfully utilizing our robotics systems. This includes extensive travel to customer construction sites
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the implementation phase, building and nurturing strong, long-term client relationships
- Work closely with clients to understand their evolving needs, ensuring our solutions are tailored to their specific project requirements and future goals
- Leverage insights from implementation to identify opportunities for expanding and deepening client relationships, working to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty
- Lead and manage the end-to-end implementation of the FieldPrint Platform for construction projects with Dusty’s largest enterprise clients, from initial planning and design through to deployment and final layout signoff
- Coordinate project schedules, resources, and stakeholders to ensure successful on-time delivery of solutions
- Identify and resolve any implementation challenges, ensuring projects stay on track and meet client expectations
- Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and milestones to senior leadership
- Work closely with the engineering and R&D teams to ensure the products meet client specifications and can be deployed efficiently
- Collaborate with Dusty’s customer support team to provide post-implementation support and ensure ongoing satisfaction
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing client accounts. Support the sales team in preparing proposals, presentations, and customized solutions for potential clients
- Push opportunities with marketing for deliverables such as case studies, multi media content, web features, speaking engagements, and more
- Regularly sync with account and finance teams to ensure clients are billed accurately and timely
- Develop and refine internal implementation processes to improve efficiency and scalability across multiple projects
- Contribute to the development of best practices and customize external operating procedures for Dusty’s largest customers. These procedures should be created in partnership with the client to create a repeatable plan to implement the FieldPrinter
- Gather feedback from clients and internal teams to improve the functionality, usability, and deployment processes of our solutions
- Proactively identify project or account risks and work to mitigate them by implementing risk management strategies. These risks could include billings or contract risk resolution
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during implementation, collaborating with engineering teams as necessary
Our take
The US construction sector is at a crisis point. Costs are rising, as is demand for buildings, this is combined with major sector short staffing, and the persistent issues of budget bloat and delayed completion dates that plague the majority of projects.
Dusty has designed a hyper-specific, high-demand robot for the construction industry. It’s an automated printing machine that lays down full-scale floor markings for construction projects, with 1mm accuracy and rich floor lines and labelling capabilities (now including QR codes). This is a task normally carried out manually, with chalk, so Dusty’s solution offers substantial benefits in terms of accuracy, saved time, and ultimately saved costs.
Because the construction sector has resisted automation for so long, Dusty is an early entrant to a pretty uncluttered market. Firstly, it’s meant the company has been able to rapidly whip up lucrative contracts with dozens of national construction companies like DPR and Swinerton. Secondly, it means the highly pedigreed development team has a comfortable scope to bring new robots to what’s expected to be an especially cash-flush, international market over the years to come.
