Role
Who you are
- A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related engineering field, or comparable industry experience within a software organization
- 5+ years of experience working with production AWS systems
- 12+ years of total industry experience in systems engineering or site reliability engineering
- Experience supporting large scale, highly available and secure cloud based web applications where code is shipped frequently
- Experience working as a technical lead on multiple systems/software engineering teams
- 3-5 years of experience managing a team of engineers participating in the entire employee lifecycle (recruiting, onboarding, performance management and employee development)
- 2+ years working within HIPAA, SOC or PCI-DSS compliance
Desirable
- Experience with container based technologies, specifically Kubernetes (EKS)
- Familiarity with microservices and serverless technologies
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A track record of identifying, promoting, and implementing improvements in software engineering patterns and/or processes
- A demonstrated willingness to assist other team members through brainstorming, mentorship, pair-programming, knowledge-sharing or whatever it takes
What the job involves
- In this role, you will lead a high performing team of site reliability engineers within the DocuSign Notary product development team
- You will utilize your depth of experience in systems engineering and cloud operations to constantly evolve our cloud capabilities in a scalable,
- Secure, and automated way
- You will actively invest in the growth and development of your team, leading by example and welcoming open, honest communication and feedback
- A successful person in this role will be self-motivated and hands-on with a flexible “whatever it takes” attitude backed by a passion for learning and developing people
- They will be able to comfortably wear multiple hats such as, consulting cross-functionally as a cloud architect, pairing with other engineers as a mentor, and going heads-down to deliver high-quality work as an individual contributor
- This person enjoys working in a fast-paced agile environment, cares about their decisions, and thrives on using technology to solve complex problems that add value to the team, our platform and our customers
- This position is an individual contributor reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering – Notary / Collaboration and is designated Flex
- Own, evolve and execute on the roadmap for our collaboration platform’s cloud operations
- Identify, design and lead delivery of secure AWS cloud platform solutions that balance product requirements, security, CI/CD, and engineering enablement
- Partner with security and compliance teams to ensure our cloud operations are on the leading edge of trust, security, disaster resilience and reliability
- Lead a team of engineers at various stages of their career, actively investing in their growth and development
- Seek out best practices and drive team adoption to continuously increase availability, observability, security, and management efficiency of our cloud infrastructure
- Cultivate an open, collaborative, and fun work environment for yourself and your team
