7+ years of experience in a software engineering role
A passion for working on systems that are highly reliable, scalable, and secure
Interested in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
Solid understanding of NodeJS
A deep understanding of Javascript and TypeScript
An interest in maintaining modernizing and optimizing large-scale distributed systems

Strong experience with unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing

What the job involves

The Dashboard Core Services team was established to help us streamline and bring consistency to how we build dashboards backends for Okta Customer Identity Cloud (CIC)
Today there are several dashboard backends built in isolation and we aim to standardize our architecture and provide a robust set of building blocks to help enhance the internal and external developer experience
In addition to providing guidance and building blocks, the team is responsible for development and stewardship of our main, customer facing dashboard
Be a part of a collaborative and agile team, interfacing with the product managers and other teams to support shared services
Work with technical leaders to help find opportunities for optimization of existing services
Debug and resolve production issues and implement fixes for them
Support existing services by ensuring that security issues and dependency updates are addressed in a timely manner
Support other teams by reviewing changes to shared services and addressing bugs
Work using NodeJS (Javascript/Typescript), MongoDB, and PostgreSQL on AWS and Azure
