Who you are
- Minimum of a post-secondary degree
- 5-8 years of experience in sales, business development, and customer management
- Experience in relevant industries such as real estate, transportation, or energy
- Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills
- Strong presentation and verbal communication skills
- Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of and passion for clean energy and mobility sectors

What the job involves
- With an expanding footprint across Canada and the U.S., we’re scaling quickly and looking for mission-driven talent to help accelerate our growth
- SWTCH is looking for a Business Development Manager to help us scale and grow our business
- Reporting directly to the VP of Sales, you’ll help develop meaningful direct sales, channel, and technology partnerships for SWTCH. The SWTCH team is lean, motivated, and driven by our mission to realizing a clean energy future
- Research prospective accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads and follow through to a successful agreement
- Understand the target markets, including industry, company, project, and company contacts and which market strategies can be used to attract clients
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to ensure that milestones are achieved
- Maintain relationships with current clients and identify new prospects
- Possess a strong understanding of our products, our competition in the industry and positioning
- Follow the latest industry developments and stay up-to-date on the competitive landscape
- Maintain customer activity in the CRM platform
- As a core member of the sales team, you have the opportunity to take a lead role and make a significant impact on the culture and values of the company
Our take
The costs of future-proofing buildings in preparation for clean energy can often mount up to unsavoury heights, acting as a deterrent for commercial and multi-family building owners who are considering upgrading their buildings to meet net-zero targets. SWTCH Energy is building a solution to make these upgrades more cost-effective and energy-efficient.
Though there is a wealth of companies operating within the EV and electrical charging hardware market, SWTCH stands out thanks to its use of existing electrical infrastructure to upgrade buildings and charging ports. Working with both building managers and EV drivers, the company’s SWTCH Control intelligent load management system is a monitor for multi-residential buildings that controls the energy capacity of a building, ensuring any charging needs never exceed the limit.
SWTCH’s work with building managers to improve infrastructure has garnered the company numerous clients across North America. In 2023, it partnered with software companies Sitetracker and AutoGrid to deploy its technology on the continent. 2025's funding round is being used to accelerate production and AI projects, as well as to scale its charger deployments across North America.
