What the job involves
- As our operations continue to grow, we are seeking a Deputy Office Manager to support the smooth running of our Glasgow facility during a 12‑month maternity leave cover on a fixed term contract
- This role is central to maintaining a safe, efficient, and welcoming environment for our engineering, manufacturing, and corporate teams
- We are looking for a proactive and organised Deputy Office Manager to help oversee the day‑to‑day operations of our Glasgow office. You will work closely with vendors, facilities partners, and Spire employees to ensure the site runs smoothly and remains a positive, productive workplace

- Keep the office running efficiently so employees can focus on their work
- Serve as a key point of contact for staff questions, requests, and general support
- Help create and maintain an office environment that is safe, organised, and enjoyable
- Support all day‑to‑day office operations
- Manage the front desk, including greeting and registering visitors
- Track, order, and maintain office supplies, snacks, and beverages
- Ensure compliance with all office safety standards and procedures
- Coordinate with building management on security, cleaning, maintenance, HVAC, and emergency preparedness
- Arrange repairs, maintenance, and small‑scale office improvements or renovations
- Oversee conference room scheduling and resolve meeting‑space issues
- Work with IT to support office equipment and hardware needs
- Manage office furniture inventory and layout
- Administer various internal office programs and initiatives
- Coordinate office events, celebrations, and social activities
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes for employees
- Support adherence to health & safety regulations across relevant Spire locations
- Provide ad‑hoc support to the People, Finance, and accounting teams as required
Our take
There’s been an increasing focus on big data in recent years, and Spire Global aims to lead the field in the biggest data of all - Earth Intelligence - with its suite of satellites collecting data from beneath the Earth’s surface to the edge of the atmosphere.
It identifies three main areas of use for its data - Aviation, Maritime, and Weather. Its capabilities in these fields include providing over 660M position reports each day for the aviation industry, building intelligent routing and tracking systems for maritime shipping, and supplying in-depth weather forecasting and climate impact analysis.
Beyond this, Spire Global's satellite system has countless other applications, such as real-time observation in active conflicts, and wildfire tracking. Operating in a rapidly developing market for space-based data, Spire continues to expand its satellite network and capaibilities as demand for global monitoring and environmental intelligence grows.
