Who you are
- The ideal candidate is a master of logistics, a creative project manager, and a collaborative leader who excels at driving results
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field
- 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate event and tradeshow management, with a strong preference for experience in the technology or blockchain industry
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, international events from concept to completion
- Exceptional project management, budget management, and organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, executives, and external vendors
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into effective event strategies
What the job involves
- We are seeking a strategic and highly organized Director of Tradeshow and Events to lead our global event marketing strategy
- This role is pivotal in shaping Blockstream's brand presence on the world stage
- You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our participation across international tradeshows and events annually, transforming our strategic objectives into impactful, real-world experiences
- This role will report to the VP of Consumer Products
- Global Event Management: Lead the planning, management, and execution of Blockstream's global presence at tradeshows and industry events each year, ensuring a consistent and high-quality brand experience
- Strategic Alignment: Work closely with the product, business development, and marketing teams to align the event calendar and strategy with key product launches, announcements, and overarching business goals
- PR & Communications Coordination: Partner with the Public Relations team to schedule and manage speaking engagements, media interviews, and press briefings for executives and subject matter experts
- Performance & KPI Analysis: Define event-specific KPIs, track performance, and synthesize key takeaways post-event. Deliver comprehensive reports on messaging effectiveness, lead generation, and overall ROI to key stakeholders
- Staffing & Training: Manage all aspects of event staffing, including recruitment, scheduling, and pre-event training to ensure all personnel are well-versed in our messaging and objectives. Manage EU based events personnel
- Leadership: Manage EU based team member and expansion as necessary
- Project Management & Content Creation: Oversee the entire event project lifecycle, from budget management and vendor negotiations to the development of compelling event-specific content suitable for PR and social media, presentations, and collateral

Blockstream's offerings include tech to help people utilize advanced technology within the Bitcoin blockchain, including microtransactions on the Lightning Network, enterprise-class Bitcoin miner hosting, and layer-2 digital asset issuance. The company also provides Blockstream Satellite, a technology that leverages satellites to stream blockchain transactions without the internet, preventing them from being disrupted by connection loss.
Whilst the technology Blockstream is facilitating access to already exists, the company has smartly recognized the inaccessibility of its advanced features, and found its niche in providing an easier way to work with the technology. Recently, the company raised significant investment that will enable it to expand its Bitcoin mining facilities - notably into Japan - amid increasing demand for large-scale hosting services.
