Company mission
Zapier's mission is to Make Automation Work for Everyone!
Role
Who you are
- You have 5+ years of experience as an HRBP or PBP, and are capable of working autonomously in a global team
- You have experience with a varied set of client groups. GTM experience is an asset, but the role will flex across different client groups
- You’re unfazed by a fast moving environment, and can stay flexible and solutions focused in ambiguous situations, or in time where priorities may change
- You build strong relationships and credibility with experienced stakeholders in order to coach them through HR challenges in their orgs, while balancing what is best for the individuals and the business
- You are capable of being a trusted sounding board and partner to your leaders in matters of organizational design, workforce planning, talent reviews, and change management. Leaders don't just need you to facilitate; they value your perspective
- You have advised and coached leaders on performance management, employee relations, and exits in multiple EMEA jurisdictions and can work collaboratively with employee relations partners and internal legal counsel through the process
- You use AI in your day-to-day work for personal productivity and for sharper insight and analysis across your portfolio
- You work effectively in a fully remote, distributed environment, and can flex across timezones when the work requires it
- We encourage you to apply even if your skills and experiences don’t exactly match the job description
What the job involves
- Zapier is looking for a People Business Partner with experience supporting GTM functions and employment standards in EMEA
- This role is for an intermediate to senior level People Business Partner who will own their portfolio end to end, with support from people team partners: organizational design, workforce planning, talent reviews, manager capability, performance, and complex employee situations
- Our People Business Partner and Employee Relations team currently holds deep expertise in Canadian and US employment practice, and we are deliberately hiring to broaden that
- Experience advising on performance, exits, and complex employee matters across multiple EMEA countries is a core requirement
- As a member of the PBP-ER Team, you will also contribute to the effectiveness of how the team works using AI-enabled systems, and automation to make processes and day-to-day work more efficient and scalable
- You don't need to be the team's AI expert, but you work in an AI-forward manner by default
- Serve as the strategic People partner to leaders in Data and Product, and the team expert in EMEA HR Partner Experience
- Develop deep knowledge of Zapier's market context, business strategy, and your client group's role within this to better advise and build strong relationships with your leaders
- Work directly with leaders in your organization on organizational design, setting and holding performance standards, talent reviews, and change management communications
- Advise on complex people challenges, offering thoughtful, timely support that balances empathy with sound judgment and business context
- Act as the driver for PBP-led people processes within your client group, including performance review and promotion cycles, and engagement surveys
- Partner with Centers of Excellence to design and roll out people initiatives that are useful, relevant, and well-connected to the needs of the business
- Strengthen the team's practice outside North America by partnering with the PBP-ER team on any EMEA employee performance cases or investigations
- Continue to grow your skills in leveraging AI tooling for your day-to-day work, and sharing your practices with the team
Our take
Even before remote working became the "in thing", freelancers, small business owners, and large organisations have found themselves needing more and more software platforms to serve their operational needs. As people used more software services, Zapier founders saw the need to connect the actions between these software and save everyone some time.
Zapier is the largest integration and automation tool for businesses. Since its founding, Zapier has grown its suite of automation offerings across almost every mainstream software service. The company is one of the most successful to come out of Y Combinator and has also been a pioneer of remote working.
Zapier has so far been able to capitalise heavily on its advantage as one of the first entrants and has had very little actual competition. Software services aren't going anywhere anytime soon, and organisations are only going to need more of them. This puts Zapier in a strong position for growth, but also opens up room for bolder companies to get in on the action. Companies like Airtable and Integromat are already preying on more niche segments of Zapier's market share.

Additional info
- As a fully remote company with 800+ team members across 40+ states, 38 countries, and 18+ timezones, we’ve adopted a culture of asynchronous work. This work style allows teams to collaborate effectively across locations, time zones, skills, and each individual’s energy levels, and empowers employees to work in a setting that fits their needs. In practice, we live on Slack, with most conversations in public channels. It mimics the open-office feel and allows everyone to search the chat logs if they need to find something that happened when they weren’t around
