Who you are
- Mission-driven, caring deeply about helping people use AI safely.

- Experienced builder of SaaS products that delight customers, from conception to production (preferably 4+ years of experience).
- Competent in any of the following languages Python, Typescript, Golang, Java and their ecosystems (e.g. for Python FastAPI, Pytest).
- Collaborative and comfortable with pair-programming.
- Expert knowledge at using tests to drive the design of the application.
- You see writing tests as an integral part of the development process and understand the benefit of writing code and tests in small increments.
- Experienced with building and operating production distributed systems. Experienced with cloud native, containers, Kubernetes and IaC tools.
- Familiar with different systems architecture patterns.
Desirable
- Have a background in offensive security (i.e. Penetration Testing, Red Teaming).
- Have experience with AI systems (either building or using).
- Have experience working in startups.
- Have experience working in an SRE function.
- Have contributions to open-source projects.
What the job involves
- You will join our engineering team to build and maintain our flagship Continuous Security Testing and AI Red Teaming Platform.
- You will work on capabilities across SaaS web apps, from integrations that protect customer systems, to internal tooling that powers our AI threat intelligence.
- You will build, test, and continuously deliver small, high quality changes to production.
- You will pair program with others on the team to collaboratively build and share knowledge.
- You will work with product stakeholders to plan and design improvements to our platform.
- You will join customer calls to understand their needs and help design solutions.
- You will evolve our architecture to support changing commercial and customer needs.
- You will participate in an on-call rota to support the systems you are building.
- You will grow other engineers; sharing your experience, providing feedback and mentoring.

Mindgard is enabling enterprise businesses to move into the new AI world, with a platform that provides threat analysis, detection of bad actors and automated red teaming and penetration testing. This is crucial for companies as it makes the complexity of model assessment easy and actionable through integrations into common MLOps and SecOps tools.
Mindgard is a deep tech spin-out from Lancaster University, and the team comprises of world-leading scientists and engineers in cyber security & AI systems. It's already being used by key intelligence organisations globally, and the company has recently successfully raised funding. This will be used to expand operations in the UK and US, ensuring Mindgard stays at the forefront of the ever-evolving AI security space.
