Who you are
- Motion design experience, be it with After Effects or HTML5, is an advantage as you can animate your designs for use in digital marketing and event content
- You have successfully completed your studies or training in design, visual communication, or a related field
- You have at least three years of experience as a graphic designer or designer or in a comparable position, preferably in a marketing or advertising environment. Experience in event design is a great advantage
- You are familiar with design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator), Figma, and other relevant tools, as well as motion design tools such as After Effects or HTML5 animation
- Your strong portfolio demonstrates your ability to create visually appealing and effective digital designs for various marketing channels and events
- You are a strong communicator who enjoys working in cross-functional teams
- As a creative problem solver, you have strong creative and conceptual thinking skills, an eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality work across digital and event platforms
- You have an analytical mindset, the ability to create designs with performance metrics in mind, and an understanding of how visual elements can impact user engagement, conversion rates, and the event experience
- You can manage multiple projects with varying deadlines and feel at home in a fast-paced environment
- You are fluent in English. German skills are an advantage
What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced Visual Designer (m/f/d) to join our Brand Design team within our Marketing department, with a focus on creating compelling and performance-driven digital designs for campaigns in the EMEA and US regions
- In addition to your digital design work, you will also support the team in designing digital and onsite events, ensuring a consistent and engaging brand presence across all platforms and experiences
- This position offers the opportunity to influence our digital marketing efforts and event experiences in key global regions

- We are therefore looking for a Visual Designer (m/f/d) throughout Europe
- Digital Campaign Assets: You create visually stunning digital assets for marketing campaigns, including banners, social media graphics, email visuals and landing pages
- Event Design: You develop designs for event-related materials, including digital event graphics and presentation materials
- Cross-functional collaboration with marketing and event teams: You work closely with the marketing and event teams to understand the objectives of the campaigns and events and ensure the designs align with the messaging, performance objectives and event themes
- Consistent brand messaging: You ensure a consistent brand message across all digital and event assets while adapting designs to different formats, platforms and environments
- Performance-driven design: You focus on creating designs that look good and drive engagement and conversions by using data and feedback to refine your approach
- Motion Design: You animate visuals for use in digital campaigns and event content, using motion design skills in After Effects, HTML5 or similar tools to enhance storytelling and audience engagement
- Event execution support: You work on executing digital and physical events to ensure all visual elements are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards
- Updating on trends: You stay current with the latest design, digital marketing, and event trends and incorporate best practices into your work
Our take
The eCommerce boom in recent years has shown no signs of slowing down, and Shopware is capturing the opportunity. The company offers a set of open source tools to power online shopping experience for hundreds of thousands of brands.
There are of course competitors, like Shopify Plus, but Shopware has stood out for serving mid-market companies that were not digitally-native businesses but had to take on digital channels to keep up with customer demand. This, combined with the obvious increase in brands and companies needing help when eCommerce became more mainstream, has served Shopware particularly well.
Founded in 2000, the company only received its first round of funding in 2022. Until then, it had been profitable off its own back. This capital and support from, among others, Carlyle and PayPal will be invested in its international growth. 22 years without funding, the impact this could now have on Shopware is exponential.
