Role
Who you are
- Ad Tech experience: understanding oRTB, VAST, ABR Video flows, SSAI
- Minimum 3 years of complete software lifecycle experience, including design, architecture, and implementation of software features
- Minimum 3 years of experience developing modern applications in Golang
- Experience with designing and implementing APIs
- Experience with designing and implementing systems that utilize near real time processing of large data sets
- Experience using modern web technologies and network transports
- Experience working with AWS services - EC2, Lambda, RDS, S3, SQS/SNS
- Experience with syndication of data to and from third parties via XML/JSON
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including documenting software design and process
- Working knowledge of software engineering fundamentals, design principles processes, and best-practices, including Test Driven Development, git-flow, pull requests, code reviews, SLAs, etc
- Experience with CI/CD and infrastructure as code
- Experience with the Agile development process
Desirable
- Experience with video pipelines in transcoding, packaging, and CDN delivery
- Knowledge in video delivery standards such as HLS, DASH, and CMAF
- Kubernetes/EKS experience
- Database experience (SQL/NoSQL)
What the job involves
- In this role, you will be a key member of the Wurl engineering video monetization team. Challenges of this position include creating highly scalable server infrastructure capable of responding to high load ad requests, while providing real time monitoring and metadata manipulation
- You’ll be part of a team that owns the customer experience pipeline, from buying Ad demand to supplying Ad inventory to demand sources

Wurl is a provider of powered streaming for smart TVs and smart TV sticks across the world. Working with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Roku, Rakuten TV, and Samsung TV Plus, Wurl's technology helps content companies to monetize their services. It enables streamers to onboard new channels and content with ease.
Wurl has few competitors in the current market, though legacy broadcast technology companies are starting to design their own OTT delivery platforms to compete with Wurl, while subscription-based streaming services like Netflix offer an alternative to viewers who don't want to see ads. With over 300 million connected TVs in over 50 countries, Wurl's viewership is still growing.
The company was acquired by AppLovin in 2022, enabling the company to bring new advertising and marketing services to both connected television (CTV) and mobile. This is an exciting opportunity within a fast growing industry as it is projected that U.S advertisers will spend around $100 billion on CTV by 2030.
