Senior Engineer, Shopify

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 3+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on data platforms, infrastructure, and security
• Proficient on two or more types of programming languages, such as Java / Kotlin / Scala, and Python or other scripting languages
• Exposure to batch and streaming paradigms and big data frameworks such as Spark, Flink, Kafka, or similar stack
• Hands-on experience with data pipeline development and automation using Apache Beam, Dataflow, or comparable tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Shopify is looking for a talented Senior Engineer with expertise in software development to help build Shopify's data platform on GCP
• You'll be a crucial member of the team and will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a data platform that supports secure and scalable data solutions
• Develop, and maintain data platform solutions using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer, etc
• Manage robust infrastructure to support the data platform by leveraging IAC (Infrastructure as Code) tools such as Terraform
• Collaboratively work with cross-functional teams such as data scientists, engineers, and analysts to understand their requirements and ensure that the data platform meets those requirements
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational and performance issues in the data platform
