Role
Who you are
- 7+ years’ experience in metrology with programming skills in CALYPSO, PC-DMIS or Metrologic and hands on experience using with CMMs, Laser Trackers, scanners or arms
- Experience completing first article inspections with working knowledge of the tools required for inspection
- Experience with MES systems and creating inspection plans electronically
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment in aerospace or other highly regulated environments
- Experience with tolerance and drawing reviews including assessing the ability to verify dimensional requirements
Desirable
- Experience with conformity and working with the FAA and DARs
- Experience with FAI software such as DISCUS or NetInspect
- Experience working in with model based definition or fully dimensional 3D models
What the job involves
- As a member of our quality team you will help define the inspection process for our first certified aircraft
- You will help us achieve airline-like levels of safety while offering urban air transportation at a price accessible to all, setting the bar for the entire nascent advanced air mobility industry
- Help develop the establishment of an aircraft inspection plan including the programming of CMMs, laser trackers and other inspection tools
- Execute daily inspections for both receiving and in process inspections
- Program CMM to support on demand development parts
- Assist in the planning and process for company inspection in support of FAA conformity inspection and certification process
- Support the development and roll out of Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques such as PFMEAs, control plans and SPC
Our take
With traffic, noise, and emissions becoming major challenges for urban life, Archer is building electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircrafts, led by its flagship model, Midnight, offering a cleaner, quieter alternative to traditional short-haul travel. Its electric powertrain significantly reduce noise and emissions compared to helicopters (one of the biggest barriers to adopting urban air mobility at scale). However, eVTOLs face hurdles before becoming an everyday reality, including regulatory approvals, infrastructure build-out, and the operational testing needed to prove long-term safety and reliability. Archer is addressing these challenges with major manufacturing investment, deep engineering partnerships, and ongoing flight testing in the US and abroad.
Even with these barriers, Archer has been moving from success to success. The company is set to be the official air taxi provider for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. And its recent acquisition of Hawthorne Airport in LA will serve as both a launch site and an innovation hub for next-generation, AI-powered aviation operations. On the commercial side, Archer's partnerships with United Airlines and its growing international presence signal strong industry confidence. COmbines with newly expanded funding and successful long-range flight tests, Archer sure is a promising player in eVTOl aviation.
