Who you are
- 8+ years professional work experience, preferably within a fast-paced, high-growth environment in a Sales, Strategy & Operations, or Management Consulting role
- Experience leading high functioning teams to drive forward complex initiatives
- Strong organizational/project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with tight deadlines
- Strong cross functional capabilities and ability to influence at all levels of an organization to drive for preferred outcomes
- Highly analytical, adept at finding meaning and summarizing key insights from ambiguous data sets combined with superb communication skills
- Curious, self-motivated, bias-for-action (“no task is too small” mentality)
- Experience in client facing roles and ability to manage external relationships
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Tableau, Mode, and other Sales tools strongly preferred
- BS/BA required; MBA or Masters degree is a plus
What the job involves
- We are looking for a Senior Manager on the Sales Strategy team to own the planning, execution, and measurement of new sales-led initiatives for Afterpay & Cash App Pay’s North America Enterprise & Mid-Market Sales Org
- This person will take on an array of special projects and programs that will require them to be a high impact contributor; gaining exposure to a variety of challenges, processes, and data
- As a Sales Strategy Senior Manager, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional initiatives from ideation to execution with a focus on driving impact for New Business across Afterpay & Cash App
- Drive Strategy & Analyses: Conduct analyses that establish the strategic priorities for the North America Afterpay & Cash App Pay Sales & AM team; impacting GTM strategy, product development, partnership models, sales targets, and more
- Operationalize Insights: Identify key metrics, measure progress against goals, and create processes that turn analysis into action. Surface digestible data-based insights and real-time reporting that inform key leadership decisions and drive growth across our business
- Lead Cross-Functional Initiatives: Establish yourself as the go-to strategy and operations lead for the North America Sales organization. Collaborate with leadership across sales, account management, business development, finance, analytics, product development, and marketing
- Optimize Systems and Operations: Identify and implement improvements in current Sales & AM workflows, processes, and tools that can help improve Sales efficiency and operations
- Coordinate Planning & Reporting: Lead ongoing planning activities and reporting for regular business reviews; provide insights to influence leadership and inform key business decisions

Block is a financial services technology company comprising of Square, Cash App, Spiral, TIDAL, and TBD. Its biggest brand, Square, offers hardware and software for small to medium-sized businesses enabling them to manage the entire payment lifecycle. It functions similarly to Shopify and Stripe, but has paired online payment processing with physical devices such as registers, payment terminals, and mobile card readers.
The business was originally founded as Square in 2009 by Jack Dorsey of Twitter fame. Already well-established with SMEs all over the globe, Square has significantly benefited from the increased demand for mobile payment systems. Its order management feature remains a go-to tool for small businesses that otherwise didn't have the proper infrastructure in place when demand for home delivery surged.
Square rebranded as Block in December 2021, with the Square brand name remaining in place for their seller business. The company has since come under fire for its security practices, facing lawsuits in relation to a major breach of CashApp user data, and in 2024 announced plans to reduce its workforce in order to cut costs. Despite these setbacks, there is every chance the business will move past this, though it may take some time to rebuild trust in its product.
