Who you are
- 3-5 years experience as a social media professional
- Expertise or interest in shopping and commerce
- Expert-level proficiency with curation of content on social networks such as TikTok, Instagram, Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Flipboard and any emerging social platforms with an emphasis on short-form video
- Experience designing and executing tests to drive conversion
- Strong understanding of analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Excel/Google Sheets
- Experience with data visualization tools (such as Looker) is a plus
What the job involves
- This is a full-time, three month contract position with the potential to extend or go full-time
- We are looking for a strategic, analytical, and passionate Commerce Social Strategist to join our team to grow our brand’s visibility and revenue within the product reviews and shopping space on social media platforms
- This role will partner closely with stakeholders across the organization and lead alignment efforts to create strategy, spearhead initiatives, and coordinate activities for key shopping events and campaigns while improving workflows and collaboration across teams
- They will be responsible for executing commerce social media strategy with an emphasis on Amazon across all social platforms, including Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, Facebook, and Twitter (as well as any that emerge in the future)
- The position is part of our centralized Commerce team, reporting to the Amazon Editorial Director, and collaborates closely with editorial and cross-functional teams including video and growth
- Industry Trends and Landscape: Maintains a sharp understanding of established and emerging social commerce and shopping-related capabilities, social media trends, and our competitors’ activities to identify opportunities for growth and innovation aligned with our business goals
- Creation and Ideation: Create and execute an editorial calendar and compelling original content based on shopping, commerce, and social trends across Dotdash Meredith’s portfolio of brands with an emphasis on Amazon. Assist social media and editorial teams as needed across the company with pitching, writing, creating, filming, editing, and tracking content that delivers strong engagement and sales. Identifies, leads, and reports on commerce social experiments in collaboration with stakeholders and partners
- Insights and Analysis: Analyze audience data, social media metrics, and financial performance to uncover insights that inform data-led strategies and optimizations. Inform the commerce team and brand stakeholders of key updates and insights with a focus on action/next steps. Prepare regular detailed reports that highlight social media performance against key metrics, providing in-depth analysis and recommendations to enhance overall strategy and effectiveness
- Communication and Presentations: Communicate social commerce content vision, strategy, and performance to stakeholders across the organization and ensure alignment on priorities and goals. Report findings and updates that crystalize complex concepts, strategies, initiatives, and data into clear, actionable insights

Formed from the 2021 acquisition of Meredith by Dotdash, Meredith Dotdash is the largest digital and print publisher in the US, encompassing over 40 brands, such as PEOPLE, Better Homes & Gardens, Verywell, Allrecipes, and many more.
The approach that built this media giant was to build websites with fast load-times and few adds. A clean site keeps readers longer, boosting its rankings in search algorithms. Ads can then be less frequent but sold at a premium, because of the readership. The company was also an early adopter of affiliate links through product reviews and articles that suggest items for purchase.
The merger of the Dotdash and Meredith teams and tech brought benefits in both directions, making Meredith sites faster and increasing story output for Dotdash. In 2023, the company launched a targeting tool named D/Cipher - that makes intent-based targeting possible at scale, without cookies. This showcases that the giant is entirely able to move at the front of the tech-evolving ad media landscape. Indeed, Meredith Dotdash is reportedly bucking the trend of news media financial downturns in 2025 with digital revenue increases of 13% year on year.
