Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills. You must be highly organized, detail-oriented with strong candidate sourcing, candidate management, hiring manager partnership and closing skills
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of experience as a full-cycle recruiter with a focus on non-technical teams or a generalist background
- Practical experience in sourcing candidates using a variety of strategies and platforms
- Strong eye for talent and an excellent ability to connect candidates with the right opportunities
- Highly self-motivated and driven to get things done
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to cultivate great relationships with stakeholders, team members and and candidates
- Experience with Greenhouse or other ATS
- Passionate about education and technology
What the job involves
- IXL Learning, developer of personalized learning products used by millions of people globally, is seeking a highly motivated Senior Recruiter to help us hire top talent
- As a Senior Recruiter at IXL, you will source and work closely with individual candidates with a focus on supporting our marketing and G&A teams
- You will work side by side with the recruiting team, hiring managers, and peers within IXL to ensure that we hire the best individuals to work toward our mission
- Partner with hiring managers to deeply understand hiring needs and help to strategize best recruiting efforts
- Manage full-cycle recruiting for critical reqs to include developing recruiting strategies, actively sourcing and screening candidates, conducting initial interviews, candidate management throughout the hiring process and presenting/negotiating offers
- Foster long-term relationships with high-caliber talent and build the best network of candidates for our teams
- Become an expert on IXL Learning so that you can inform candidates about our products, positions, and company culture
- Develop closing strategies for candidates, ensuring that they have the information they need to make the best decision
- Maintain a seamless and efficient candidate experience that results in a positive impression of IXL Learning, regardless of the outcome
Our take
IXL Learning has been creating software solutions for education since the late 90s and claims to have more than 13 million students using its service. The personalized learning platform has grown and developed since the late 90s internet boom and become more responsive and tailored to each of its students' needs.
This evolution has been achieved through breakthroughs in analytics software as well as numerous lucrative acquisitions by IXL. These buyouts have included Rosetta Stone, one of the global leading language learning platforms, Education.com and Vocabulary.com. IXL also facilitates Wyzant, the largest tutoring network in the US, and ABCya, which has published more than 300 educational computer games.
With a vast internet network of companies under its belt, IXL is still investing in innovation in the 2020s. In 2022, it acquired Curiosity Media which is responsible for Fluencia. This Spanish language learning app uses neuroscience research to perfect the learning of the Spanish language, exemplifying how IXL has grown from a revolutionary online learning platform to a multi-pronged investor in education. That being said, it still releases its own groundbreaking products such as the IXL Math "Takeoff" platform, a personalised whole-class instruction resource for teachers.
