Who you are
- What we’re looking for We want a creative, hands-on developer who loves building excellent software
- 5+ years of experience as a Senior Developer or similar role
- Track record of designing and delivering high-availability, scalable, high-performance applications
- Strong object-oriented programming experience in C#, .NET stack, Entity Framework, and API services
- Proficient with databases (MS SQL and Azure SQL) and cloud-based design principles; Azure experience required
- Experience working in an Agile product development environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a passion for system design and software development
- Ability to innovate and devise new approaches to complex design challenges
- Technologies: .NET Core/Standard/Framework, SQL, Data Lake, Event Hubs, Redis, relational databases, Microsoft Azure, SCADA, REST and SOAP APIs
- Tools: Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio, T-SQL, Azure SQL, Git, Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud, Windows Server
- Core languages: C#
- Bonus: Python, Azure IoT knowledge
Desirable
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (highly desirable)
- Experience with multi-threaded/async applications
- Exposure to automation or control systems (PID/SCADA)
- Energy domain knowledge or passion for energy sustainability and innovation
- Familiarity with energy protocols (MQTT, ICCP, OpenADR, FTP/SFTP) and standard protocols (MODBUS)
- Understanding of energy concepts (kW, kWh, frequency, voltage)
What the job involves
- Reporting to: Head of Product Delivery
- In this role, you’ll contribute across the full software lifecycle in an agile setting, shaping the Smart Grid Platform through programming, analysis, design, implementation, and delivery
- You’ll use industry-standard tools to meet evolving business needs and will help deliver solutions for GridBeyond’s customers and partners
- Take a senior role in the Controls and Energy Services team to develop products that unlock opportunities in current and new markets, while evolving existing solutions
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (Product, Project Managers) to gather and document technical requirements and identify optimal solutions
- Implement Energy services business logic and Transmission System Operator (TSO) integrations; ensure designs align with the platform’s technology strategy
- Document software and support handover/delivery to stakeholders
- Work with the Team Lead to identify opportunities to improve architecture, recommending new technologies and approaches
- Contribute to standards and processes, seeking opportunities to innovate and improve efficiency
