Senior Software Engineer, Honeycomb

• Deep experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs. You have substantial expertise (3+ years) building APIs with strong opinions about API design, versioning, error handling, and overall developer experience
• Frontend proficiency with React and TypeScript. You have at least 1-2 years of professional experience delivering frontend features and contributing to full-stack software through all stages of the development lifecycle, though your primary expertise may be focused on APIs and backend systems
• Ownership and autonomy. You proactively identify problems, propose solutions, and own your projects end-to-end from initial planning to deployment and ongoing maintenance
• Experience supporting production services. You've shipped features to production, have experience investigating and resolving production incidents, and ideally have participated in on-call rotations (see how we track on-call health)
• A collaborative and flexible mindset. You're comfortable working cross-functionally, pivoting priorities to address evolving customer or business needs, and maintaining strong teamwork
• Balance between engineering excellence and customer value. You're skilled at iterating in small increments, quickly delivering user value, and continuously balancing technical investment with business goals

• As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer II on this team, you’ll join a growing engineering organization building critical features that help enterprise customers effectively manage complex organizational structures and resources at scale
• We recently released Tags to improve resource organization and discoverability and are now working on introducing a Read-Only Role to further enhance the experience of our enterprise users
• Design, build, and deliver APIs. You’ll architect and implement APIs in Go, emphasizing clarity, maintainability, and backward compatibility as well as ensuring they are well-documented
• Build and maintain full-stack product features. You’ll contribute frontend (React/TypeScript) and backend (Go) code to build robust product features, maintaining proficiency across the stack
• Collaborate across disciplines. You’ll work closely within a product triad model alongside design and product partners, from discovery through delivery, iterating quickly based on user feedback
• Support and own your software in production. You’ll participate in on-call rotations to ensure reliable operations and proactively address user pain points
• Provide technical leadership. Plan, lead, and deliver complex, multi-team projects, ensuring alignment, resolving external dependencies, and mentoring teammates. We rotate tech lead responsibilities with each feature to allow everyone on the team to use and grow these skills
