You bring extensive and solid experience with Node.js and TypeScript
You are proficient in working with databases such as MongoDB, AWS, Redis, and PostgreSQL
You have experience with Docker or other container technologies

You are fluent in English and ideally also in German
You are based in Berlin and enjoy working in a hybrid setup with regular in-office presence

What the job involves

To help bring this vision to life, we’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (m/f/d) to strengthen our talented Product Team
In a nutshell: developing new features and enhancing our backend infrastructure
You’ll work with the team to create innovative solutions at the highest professional and technical levels, using Node.js and TypeScript for backend development
You’ll play a key role in technical planning, architecture design, and coordinating backend interfaces
You’ll contribute ideas to make Bling even better and collaborate closely with our developers, designers, and product managers. Together, we push boundaries to make Bling the go-to app for families
Play a key role in shaping Europe’s first Super-App for families, making a real impact on how families connect and thrive

Our take

Founded to improve financial and media literacy in the family unit, Bling is a financial management app that combines pocket money, mobile plans, savings and investments into one mobile app. It works with partner banks and companies to provide its customers with deals and tools, saving time alongside cash.

Partnerships with Societe Generale and Mastercard to offer bank-affiliated savings accounts and investment schemes preceded 2024’s release of a mobile plan via European Telkom. With $12 million invested in the company in 2024, Bling has more than quadrupled its value. It will be investing its capital in more products, though for the time being its focus market will remain on the EU.
