Who you are

Education: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent education and experience
Experience: 4-7 years experience as a UX designer
Strong user experience design skills including user flows, wireframing, and interaction design
Strong visual design skills, especially visual interface and typography
Experience building interactive prototypes suitable for validating design decisions with users
Familiarity with atomic design methodology and an interest in the challenges that come with building and maintaining design systems
Expertise in UX software such as Figma, Adobe Suite, etc. Basic HTML and CSS skills are a big plus
Excellent written and verbal communication
Be excited about collaborating and communicating closely with teams and stakeholders distributed across the world
Self-motivated and highly-organized

The design team for several of our most loved brands, BHG, Real Simple, Southern Living and more, is looking for a Product Design Lead to help define site experiences and features that help us achieve our business goals across our portfolio of sites
In this role you will create beautiful, elegant design solutions that also vividly express our brand promise
You will simultaneously be a champion for our users while also collaborating with our editorial teams to help them tell stories that delight, engage, and build loyalty
As a UX Design Lead at Dotdash Meredith you will collaborate with business stakeholders and user research teams to understand problems and recognize opportunities, and work directly with other designers, product managers and software developers to build web products that solve them
Collaborate with Brand stakeholders to develop the visual language of our products and maintain cohesive expressions of visual identities for multiple brands
Translate user needs and business requirements into concrete ideas and high fidelity designs
Document design guidelines, share knowledge, and collaborate with the engineering team to ensure products ship on time and as designed
Champion and promote design thinking, research, and process across the organization

Use business requirements, user stories, and data to produce user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity mockups, and rigorous user interface specifications
Participate in and lead brainstorming and critique sessions that foster big-picture thinking while identifying opportunities to raise the bar on the details
Collaborate across teams to understand opportunities, develop potential solutions, and test ideas, validate assumptions
Present design solutions and build consensus among a broad range of stakeholders
Work closely with our engineering team to ensure the designs are executed at the highest level of fidelity and craft

Formed from the 2021 acquisition of Meredith by Dotdash, Meredith Dotdash is the largest digital and print publisher in the US, encompassing over 40 brands, such as PEOPLE, Better Homes & Gardens, Verywell, Allrecipes, and many more.

The approach that built this media giant was to build websites with fast load-times and few adds. A clean site keeps readers longer, boosting its rankings in search algorithms. Ads can then be less frequent but sold at a premium, because of the readership. The company was also an early adopter of affiliate links through product reviews and articles that suggest items for purchase.

The merger of the Dotdash and Meredith teams and tech brought benefits in both directions, making Meredith sites faster and increasing story output for Dotdash. In 2023, the company launched a targeting tool named D/Cipher - that makes intent-based targeting possible at scale, without cookies. This showcases that the giant is entirely able to move at the front of the tech-evolving ad media landscape. Indeed, Meredith Dotdash is reportedly bucking the trend of news media financial downturns in 2025 with digital revenue increases of 13% year on year.
