What the job involves
- Foursquare is looking for an Associate Account Manager to join our team
- The Associate Account Manager plays a critical role in the go-to-market efforts at Foursquare and sits within the Account Management team within Sales
- The Sales team collectively works to solution-sell both Targeting and Measurement (ATTR) into Marketers serviced directly or by their intermediary agencies and platforms
- Working closely with Engineering and Marketing teams to bring to life the best in market geo-location based services, Foursquare’s sales team is responsible for the sale and service to secure, retain & grow account and partner based revenue
- Support Account Managers and PAMs with day-to-day client needs, including campaign setup, pacing checks, and reporting
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure smooth campaign execution
- Assist in preparing client-facing materials, including performance summaries and presentations
- Surface any issues immediately to AMs or PAMs with a plan for how to solve
- Be a team player by going above and beyond to support client needs. If you see something do something, lead by example
- Accountability - be accountable and provide timely feedback to your peers
- Be revenue aware, will your action or inaction have revenue implications
- Track and report on KPIs, providing leadership with clear visibility into partner pipeline, integration status, and revenue impact
Our take
Foursquare was originally built as an app that used mobile phone GPS to 'check in' at certain locations. Over time, it has transformed from a user location check-in app into a large location platform that provides analytics for several business and consumer products.
Foursquare operates in a crowded market, but by continually innovating, it has successfully fended off competitors. However, with the likes of Google Maps and Facebook Places in the same industry, it will continuously need to set itself apart. Foursquare shows its appeal, though: major players, including Twitter, Uber, Apple Maps, and Airbnb, to name a few, use the platform.
The company has an ambitious goal of bringing "Foursquare Everywhere", with part of its strategy to grow by acquisitions. For example, it acquired Unfolded, a geospatial analytics firm, to help enhance its analysis of location data. Foursquare has also made a deal with social media giant TikTok to provide insights into users' in-store activity to monitor the effectiveness of ads on the video platform, and with Constellation Network to give insights into restaurant and retail business traffic trends.
