Role
Who you are
- Significant experience in a sales role, preferably in the travel or hospitality industry, with a results-driven mindset and a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with potential and existing customers
- Very strong attention to detail, and an extraordinarily high level of ownership and accountability
- Self-motivation and proactivity, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team, along with superb time management skills and an ability to prioritise your time and leads
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales productivity tools
- Belief in our mission and a passion for sustainability or slow travel
- A willingness to work weekends (on a rota system) and bank holidays in exchange for time back during the week
Desirable
- Excellent travel-related knowledge of the UK
- Extensive travel in a personal or professional capacity
- Ability to travel and/or work outside the UK
- Fluency in a modern European language other than English
What the job involves
- As a Concierge team member, you’ll play a vital role in generating new business, nurturing client relationships, and contributing to our sales targets
- Your expertise in slow travel will help create memorable journeys that inspire our customers, as well as enable you to specialise in a specific region and contribute to our product development
- Build fantastic, bespoke journeys for our customers, using your passion for and expert knowledge of slow travel
- Qualify leads, understand their travel preferences, and provide tailored recommendations to match their needs. Seek out and generate leads through various channels, including outbound calls and emails
- Drive the sales process from initial contact to closing deals, ensuring a smooth and positive customer experience
- Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall team's sales goals
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their ongoing satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute targeted campaigns and promotions, and with cross-functional teams (e.g.Trips and Customer Support) to ensure seamless execution of your customers’ holidays and outstanding customer service
- Introduce/advocate for processes/technologies/tools for further automation, and act as a business owner for technical developments

Byway arrange no-fly holidays for eco-conscious travellers, where participants voyage by way of trains, boats, and buses only, spending time at local accommodation and hidden stop-off points along the way. It’s a neat idea, and the relatively young company has been getting some high-profile attention for it.
This is in part because Byway’s timing has been astute. Firstly, their model chimes neatly with the growing interest in low-carbon, low-impact activities that have been a major part of public conversation over recent years.
