Who you are
- Engineering experience with strong depth in distributed systems, API platforms, and cloud-native development (Java, Golang, or equivalent)
- Proven experience in designing and operating microservice architecture
- Strong analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems
- Proficiency in designing distributed services with APIs (gRPC/HTTP)
- Expertise in cloud technologies
- Knowledge of Workflow orchestration, Container orchestration
- Knowledge of Networking technologies
- Excellent communication skills; able to influence at multiple levels of the organization
- Familiarity with Agile practices and tools (Scrum, Jira, Git, CI/CD pipelines)

What the job involves
- We are seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Product Software team at Equinix to help build next-generation software products and architecture for our Equinix infrastructure software platform. We're building new products to enable customers to discover, build and deploy infrastructure
- Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop platform services, and to collaborate with partner teams to understand their requirements and usage patterns
- A commitment to collaborative problem solving, system design, and product quality is essential
- Design, develop, and enhance software features, and build scalable microservices that power enterprise-grade workflows
- Build distributed, scalable, and highly available services with simple APIs
- Build using design principles that balance innovation, maintainability and Observability
- Contribute directly to code while influencing long-term technical direction
- Continuously improve our software development lifecycle, tools, and processes
- Communicate and document clearly in a remote-first environment
- Contribute and improve our operational best practices
- Participate in on-call rotations for our services
- Lead by example—build reliable, secure, and observable systems with strong performance SLAs
- Build using best practices for API-first development, automated testing, DevSecOps, and continuous delivery
