Who you are
- 8+ years in demand gen, growth, or performance marketing at B2B SaaS companies
- Proven track record owning a pipeline number and building a multi-channel demand engine
- Hands-on experience across SEO/SEM, Paid Social, Email, AEO and CRO
- Experience managing execution through contractors and agencies while owning strategy and channel decisions
- Strong cross-functional collaborator — effective working across PMM, Sales, Product, RevOps, and Finance
- Creative marketer with a track record of campaigns that convert

What the job involves
- We're hiring a Head of Growth Marketing to build Instrumentl's growth and demand engine — how we reach, engage, and convert nonprofits and grant-funded organizations from first touch through free-trial activation and Sales handoff
- This is a newly created role with full ownership of strategy and the pipeline number
- Today, channel execution runs through a mix of contractors and agencies, and you'll have one direct report to start — with opportunity to hire as the engine scales
- This is a builder's role at its core: you'll own the outcomes, not just the plan, with room to build both the growth engine and the team from the ground up
- We're looking for someone who's data-driven, brings creative and innovative testing methodologies to reach and convert, and is excited by the mission and impact you can have
- Growth is central to Instrumentl's trajectory, which makes this an incredibly strategic and high-impact role
- Growth & Demand Generation:
- Architect and own the multi-channel demand engine: SEO/SEM, Paid Social, Email, and emerging channels. Set budgets, targets and own the resourcing plan and outcomes behind them
- Develop creative campaigns and messaging that compel nonprofits and grant-funded organizations to engage and convert
- Lead our AEO/GEO approach so Instrumentl shows up across traditional and AI-powered discovery
- Funnel & Conversion:
- Own the conversion funnel from first touch through free-trial activation and conversion to opportunity
- Partner with Product and Ops to optimize landing pages, onboarding flows, and lead routing
- Cross-Functional Partnership:
- Work with PMM, Brand, and Events to build integrated campaigns
- Align with Sales on lead quality and pipeline; partner with RevOps and Finance on attribution, budgeting, and ROI
- Team & Operations:
- Own the measurement framework and reporting infrastructure that gives the business real-time visibility into pipeline health and channel ROI
- Establish a rigorous test-and-learn model: structured experiments, fast iteration, clear learnings
- Use AI tools to accelerate execution and create workflows that compound over time
Our take
For nonprofits and academic institutions, a lot of energy and manpower is funnelled into finding the right grants and drafting their applications. This work before the work often takes hundreds of hours, and many funding bodies have as little as a 20% success rate. Instrumentl has set out to change that with its full-grant-drafting pipeline platform.
Instrumentl’s AI-powered platform works across the full grant lifecycle, assisting applicants in researching the perfect fit for funding, increasing redraft efficiency, discovering insights to align applications with the funding body's requirements and tracking and managing applications. Ultimately, then, Instrumentl sheds the need for multiple grant application tools and becomes a one-stop shop for grant consultants, non-profits and academic researchers.
It’s making a difference too, with a 2024 survey of customers revealing that its software helped them gain, on average, an extra $1.1 million a year. With a total of more than $7.7 billion raised through the platform and more than 4,500 leading organizations as customers, it’s unsurprising that Instrumentl itself has seen significant funding awarded. As the work of global non-profits grows in importance, Instrumentl is living up to its name.
