- We’re looking for engineers who are self-driven, optimistic, creative, and resourceful. We have no requirements for a background in robotics, but find most success with engineers excited by the domain and looking to apply their expertise and experience in a new, fascinating area

What the job involves
- This role is a Software Generalist in nature with lean towards embedded systems and firmware
- You will be part of our on-call rotation helping with higher parts of our software stack but also have familiarity with embedded systems, firmware, etc
- We’re looking for seasoned and skilled technical leaders to help architect the future of robotics through best in class, modern software engineering practices
- As an Embedded Systems Software Engineer, you will work with other engineers, organizational leaders, and users to advance the foundations of systems control, networking, and robotics
- Identify, scope, and drive high impact technical projects that will inform the basis of Standard Bots platform strategy
- Advise leadership on technical decisions and strategy
- Mentor and advise other engineers as well as peers on technical and personal advancement
- Drive technical decision making and implementation through hands-on and technically deep work
- The Systems Group focuses on foundational technologies including motor control, Linux host OS configuration, system health monitoring/logging, and robotic control systems

Our take
In recent years, the field of robotics has brought to life ideas that once belonged to the world of sci-fi. But, robots are still extremely complex to program, making the automations they facilitate out of reach for many businesses.
Standard Bots is setting out to change this, with AI-powered robots and a complementary robotics platform that means they can be programmed through simple demonstrations. This approach should broaden the accessibility of robots to businesses of all sizes, enabling them to employ automations that can give them a competitive edge.
