Who you are
- To be successful in this role, you must have leadership experience and have ideally led a group of 20-30 people
- Your are a leader and are comfortable with managing software delivery, coaching teams, possess an agile mindset, and have a clear understanding of the business’ bigger picture
- You have a successful track record of leading teams that build and release high quality products to market that solve real customer problems
- You can drive change within the organization and foster a positive culture of continuous improvement and have a drive for continuous improvement
- You ideally have experience with a software product company that values agile principles and practices that are customer centric
- Additionally, you have good planning and time management skills to meet our targets and delivery dates. Experience in the Energy/Utilities industry would be beneficial for this role

What the job involves

- We are currently hiring an Engineering Manager to lead teams within the R&D product engineering function
- As part of the engineering leadership team, reporting to the VP of Engineering, you are comfortable managing innovation, software development and delivery, coaching teams, you have an agile mindset, and a clear understanding of the business’ bigger picture
- Support initiatives run by the GSTF and demonstrate our company values by providing a clear commitment to environmental and social responsibility
- Contribute through identifying/proposing local sustainable practices and ideas in accordance with our Sustainability Charter
- Utilise our sustainability app by taking part in challenges and improving behaviours to be more sustainable

Gentrack provides customer relationship management and billing software solutions to the utilities industry. In particular, it focuses on providing modern, 'cleantech' solutions - an approach which allows Gentrack's clients to benefit from both increased efficiency and greater sustainability. As world industries set ambitious net zero carbon targets in response to a mounting climate crisis, Gentrack has found its services consistently in demand since its founding in 1980.
With direct competition from the likes of Ecrion and Apptivo, Gentrack must constantly strive to keep ahead of its rivals. However, its solutions have already been backed by some key clients in the market, with a particularly strong base among energy suppliers in New Zealand and Australia. As energy prices rapidly increase due to political instability in Europe, Gentrack has also expanded its presence strongly in the United Kingdom, forming partnerships with the likes of Marble Power, ENGIE, E.On and npower.
