Staff Engineer, Stripe

• 10+ years of hands-on backend experience building large-scale, distributed systems
• Proven track record of building large scale, complex distributed systems; identifying shortcomings and optimization opportunities; and making data driven cost performance tradeoffs to influence design decisions
• Excellent technical communication skills; you can articulate complex architectural trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (including external partners)
• Strong collaboration skills to work effectively directly with partners and across multiple teams and stakeholders
• Past experience mentoring and investing in the development of engineers
• A user-first mindset; you care deeply about the product experience and the users who rely on the systems you build
