Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of professional experience as a DevOps engineer or similar role
- Customer-facing experience, particularly in deploying software to cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Expertise in Kubernetes and Terraform, with experience in managing hybrid and multi-cloud setups
- Proficient in programming and scripting languages like Python and Bash
- Solid experience with distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting systems
- Strong understanding of database management (SQL/NoSQL), backups, restores, and migrations
- Deep knowledge of Linux systems, networking, security, and version control
- Ability to work autonomously in fast-paced, evolving environments, with an entrepreneurial and self-driven mindset
- Excellent spoken and written English skills
Desirable
- Experience with programming languages such as Golang, Rust, C++, or Typescript
- Familiarity with OpenShift
- Experience implementing high-availability, fault-tolerant solutions
- Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
What the job involves
- In this role, you’ll be a part of a highly skilled DevOps team that works cross-functionally with Engineering, Value Management, and Application Management teams. The balance between customer-facing responsibilities and internal infrastructure improvements makes this a dynamic and impactful position
- Your contributions will support smooth and efficient software operations and empower our clients to achieve greater efficiency and sustainability in their processes
- Deploy and set up new development tools and infrastructure for customer environments
- Work closely with customers to understand and address their unique technical setups, ensuring smooth deployments
- Collaborate with internal teams to automate and enhance development and release processes for both internal and external environments
- Test and review code, providing insights and feedback to optimize performance and resolve issues
- Troubleshoot technical problems, develop software updates, and implement fixes
- Contribute to project planning, providing insights into the technical aspects of deployments and infrastructure
- Establish and maintain monitoring and reporting processes to ensure smooth operation in both customer and in-house environments
- Foster a robust DevOps culture, promoting best practices and collaboration across the organization
Our take
The complexity of modern products, as well as the associated manufacturing processes, has increased over the past few decades. This growing complexity introduces three major challenges for engineers creating complex products. Firstly, the process is often inefficient, with engineers spending large amounts of time on non-productive things like coordination meetings. Secondly, information in this area is often difficult to find: engineers commonly spend around a quarter of their time searching for product information. Thirdly, creating cross-departmental understanding is often highly challenging. In short, things need to get better.
This is where SPREAD comes in. Their software streamlines the product design process at all stages, from giving access to part or component information to suggesting how a product can be assembled and even repaired. These high-level product insights are aimed at increasing efficiency in the design process.
SPREAD has generated a lot of interest with a customer base including major manufacturers such as Audi, Ford, Miele and Porsche. This has led to the startup raising a significant amount of funding which it intends to use for early product development and growth.
