Role
Who you are
- At least 2 years of experience in Sales roles (e.g., Account Executive, Business Development Manager, Account Manager, Presales support roles, etc.). One or more years in a full-cycle AE role is preferred
- Demonstrated results sourcing new business, growing a business, or expanding a market
- Tenacity and drive to seek new business and exceed targets
- Experience in building a territory from scratch is a strong asset
- Excellent interpersonal skill for creative prospecting, managing multiple opportunities and stakeholders (internal and external), presenting in front of teams, and contributing to our growing teamâs cutlure
- Experience in the SaaS market and an excitement to learn Cybersecurity is a must. Experience in Cybersecurity is a plus!
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Track record to create, progress and close opportunities with good CRM hygiene and accurate forecasting
- Genuine excitement to be part of a new team, support new team members, solve customer problems (more than just âsellingâ), and collaborate in a startup environment is a must! (and a key ingredient to winning and having fun!)
What the job involves
- Hack The Box is looking for a Commercial Account Executive to help us expand our mid-market clientele in the US
- You will be at the front of the company and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy
- This role involves primarily new logo acquisition but will also have the opportunity to own and grow existing accounts. The goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting B2B sales and forging strong and fruitful customer relationships
- You'll team up with our Business Development Representatives (BDRs) to supercharge your lead generation endeavors, while Solutions Engineers will join forces with you for those in-depth technical discussions
- The Customer Success team will be your partners in ensuring top-notch customer experiences every step of the way
- You'll also collaborate with our marketing, product, and content teams, leveraging valuable customer insights to fuel continuous improvements. It's all about driving success through seamless teamwork and innovation
- Prospect and generate new logo opportunities and build a sustainable pipeline with ideal target of 3x quota
- Create and iterate on a territory plan to optimize time spent creating your own pipeline and leveraging marketing assets
- Conduct research to identify ideal target segments and tailor messaging to d customer needs
- Understand and stay on top of the quickly evolving Cybersecurity market landscape and industry trends
- Own opportunities end-to-end - sourcing opportunities, managing evaluations, negotiating pricing, preparing contracts, and closing
- Partner with BDRs and Solution Engineers to deliver a world class customer experience
- Maintain accurate forecasts, notes, and next steps in Hubspot (our CRM) and leverage other sales tools (Gong, Highspot, etc.)
- Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers - from Security Analysts to CISOs
- Attend conferences, in-person meetings, and industry events as needed
- Proactively own your territory from pipeline management to marketing and product feedback. Our Account Executives are the CEOs of their territories
- Technology tools & weapons youâll be using: Hubspot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Gong, JIRA, HighSpot

- Level 6: You've achieved the Omniscient rank and officially received an offer from HTB! To complete the last level and the Quest, all you need to do is accept the offer

Our take
Cybersecurity attacks have ballooned in number recently, shining a spotlight on the urgent need for tighter, sharper cybersecurity measures. Hack the Boxâs response has been to create what they call a âmassive cyberhacking playgroundâ. Itâs a cybersecurity skill platform where B2C users can explore gameified cyber training and penetration testing exercises, engage with the infosec community, and explore careers vacancies. B2B customers can access the same training, with additional administrative features.
All in all, itâs a comprehensive offering that allows Hack the Box to sit at the intersection of two lucrative and growing markets. On the one hand, an increase in people carrying out career pivots towards the tech sector, and pursuing online training opportunities. On the other, an increased business focus on (and investment in) improving cybersecurity postures.
Consequently, Hack the Box has seen substantial growth over the past few years, on the back of considerable funding up to series B. Itâs touted as the worldâs largest hacking community, with over 3.3 million platform members and a growing number of products, including new training programs such as penetration testing labs and an academy. With demand for these skills rising and demand for online teaching equally strong, Hack the Box is operating within a strong market with good growth potential.
