What the job involves
- Leading the team management operating system (TeamOS) for hourly workers
- You will be responsible for defining the shared experiences across our device ecosystem (web, mobile, point-of-sale)
- You will partner closely with design, user research, data analytics and engineering to define the future of Homebase experience
- All shared experiences, such as the navigation, dashboard feed, settings, notifications, login, and permission management will be managed by your team
- You will also partner closely with the engineering team to help make the longer term architecture and partner integration decisions
- This is an individual contributor role and will report directly to the VP of product
- This role can transition to a manager role once we have an established multi-year roadmap
- Work with a front end engineering team, data analytics and design to build the next version of our shared experiences on web, mobile, and POS
- Partner with product teams to understand the multi-product use cases and to roll out the shared experiences
- Define and execute on a rolling 4 quarter roadmap
- Define and track success metrics for the team charter
- Contribute to discussions on build vs. buy with engineering leadership
- Contribute as a product leader reporting to the VP of Product

Our take
Homebase provide employees and businesses with time tracking applications, with a range of other HR functionality built in. Homebase automates the process of managing employee scheduling, and also helps companies improve internal communications.
The company contributes to the reduction of paperwork in an office by turning an array of devices into time clocks that track hours and overtime, while also providing payroll support. This makes it easier for companies to remain in sync, running a more efficient operation as a result.
Given that Homebase's customer base of small businesses is not able to pay a lot for its product, scale is the key driver in the company's future success. With over 100,000 customers already, its significant venture capital backing will ensure that the company will be able to grow (notably it's investing in Canadian talent) to provide its services on a profitable scale.
