Who you are
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial role in the renewable energy space, such as a commercially oriented product manager/owner, Account Manager, or Business Development Manager
- Track record of optimizing deals, renegotiating contracts, and upselling complex solutions
- Solid understanding of energy markets, short-term power trading, and/or AI solutions
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and communication skills
- Passion for sustainability and tech-driven innovation
- Fluency in German and English (both are essential)
- Residency in Germany or Netherlands
- Live in Germany, preferably in the North Rhine-Westphalia region (or similar distance to the Dutch border or the other way around
- Be willing and able to travel frequently within Germany and across the DACH region
- Visit our Amsterdam HQ regularly (2–4 times per month) for alignment and team collaboration
What the job involves
- As our Strategic Growth Manager you'll play a critical role in managing and expanding relationships with our existing clients in the energy space across the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland)
- Instead of selling from scratch, you’ll focus on maximizing value for both the client and Dexter
- Your focus is to identify growth opportunities, renegotiate contracts where necessary, and drive upsells on volume and additional products
- This is a highly commercial and strategic role that requires short term energy trading knowledge, client engagement, strong business acumen, and the ability to navigate complex negotiations
- Your success will directly impact Dexter’s expansion in DACH
- Go deep into client accounts to assess ongoing performance and identify optimization opportunities
- Renegotiate contracts where conditions have changed, ensuring long-term win-win partnerships
- Identify and drive upsell opportunities whether in additional volumes, new products, or optimizations
- Act as a trusted advisor to our clients, helping them optimize their trading strategies using Dexter’s solutions
Our take
Dexter provides highly accurate energy forecasts to renewable energy producers. Its algorithm analyses current and historic weather data to determine how much electricity windmills and solar panels will generate on a given day. This enables energy companies to reduce imbalances on the grid by determining energy loads, helping companies to optimise their renewable electricity production and consumption.
As the energy market continues to shift, large-scale providers must be able to anticipate changing weather and market conditions. Since the company’s AI-powered software enables companies to manage increasing imbalance costs, Dexter has considerable growth potential as it expands its services across Europe and into the UK.
