Who you are

Master’s degree in a quantitative or analytical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, etc) with at least 5 years of relevant experience; OR
Ph.D. in a related discipline with at least 3 years of relevant experience
Strong background in deep learning, machine learning, natural language processing
Hands-on experience coding in Python and proficiency in packages such as pytorch, tensorflow, langchain, llama-index, scikit-learn, numpy, scipy, pandas, matplotlib etc
Experience working with large datasets using SQL
Familiarity with both open-source and proprietary generative AI models (e.g., prompt engineering, fine tuning, retrieval-augmented generation)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Data Scientist to join our team
The role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying state-of-the-art AI solutions tailored for the healthcare sector
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in machine learning, generative AI, and natural language processing, with a passion for tackling complex problems using multimodal data
Develop innovative AI solutions for healthcare applications, leveraging multimodal datasets
Develop foundation models using state-of-art architectures, algorithms and technology from the AI community
Derive performance metrics and communicate them to stake-holders
Generate evidence to highlight the clinical relevance and value of AI solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a supportive and knowledge-sharing environment
Lead and manage independent projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes
Efficiently handle and process large, complex datasets

Our take

Medical data has traditionally been difficult to obtain. Yet access for health care providers could help to reduce some of the $1.6 trillion spent annually on healthcare costs for chronic conditions in the U.S. alone.

OM1 is a medical data service company offering real-time patient data for health professionals to review and utilize. This aggregated data assists with the early identification of illnesses and can be used as evidence in regulatory approvals. OM1 has launched a series of registries where medical professionals can share data and insights for specific conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and Osteoarthritis.

Other companies attracting interest in this space include HealthVerity and Aetion, which supply databases used by pharmaceutical companies for drug research and development. OM1 sits apart from these providers in a middle-tier away from the large data centers but larger than providers focused on data from smaller research groups.

The company is focused on developing its platform, with a focus on adding datasets to help tackle Parkinson's disease and building out an AI-based product to provice personalised information about diagnosis, treatments and risks from a dataset composed of the records of over 300 million patients.
