Who you are
- Are fluent in both German and English, with excellent communication skills
- Have previous experience in customer-facing roles, comfortable interacting with a diverse range of personalities
- Possess a strong empathetic personality, able to connect with customers, and demonstrate self-confidence and customer focus
- Have a keen eye for identifying areas where processes can be automated and made more efficient, always keeping customer satisfaction in mind
- Demonstrate creativity, a hands-on mentality, and a goal-oriented approach to problem-solving
- Enjoy switching between different tasks and wearing multiple hats
- Are able to commit to a minimum of 6 months
What the job involves
- As our Business Development Intern, you will strengthen our successful Business Development Department in Berlin
- You will not only get to know the vast and exciting world of real estate but also gain initial experience in customer interaction and sales
- You will be an integral part of our team, actively shaping the future of Wunderflats alongside your colleagues
- This position provides a great opportunity for anyone aspiring to a career in Business Development, Sales or Customer Success
- Build strong relationships with landlords by providing exceptional customer service
- Work closely with our Business Development Team to acquire, verify, and onboard new landlords
- Take part in various research projects to identify key strategies and solutions that will help us scale
- Influence sales and support the monthly sales targets of our amazing Sales Manager
- Maintain and update customer databases, playing a key role in keeping our information reliable and up-to-date
- Gain deep insights into the German real estate market. You’ll have opportunities to continuously build your expertise, making you a valuable team player and boosting your career skills
Our take
The rise of technology for remote working, alongside the number of companies offering the set-up as an employment perk, has seen a marked increase in the number of digital nomads spending extended amounts of time working from abroad. As a result, the market for for mid- to long-term lets is growing, with demand anticipated to continue rising over the coming years. Proptech company Wunderflats is taking advantage of this trend.
Wunderflats has a broad scope; covering company travel arrangements, lettings for families & students, and a full furnishing and property management service. With operations beginning in Germany, the company found a lucrative testing ground that enabled it to showcase the popularity of its service, which in turn enabled it to secure growth funding. With this, it has brought its offering to 6 German cities, as well as beginning European expansion with Paris.
Germany has one of the largest rental markets in the EU, in addition to being one of the more popular destinations for digital nomads, which definitely contributed to Wunderflats gaining an edge over other hospitality providers. As the company brings its product to other EU markets, it will be interesting to watch how it effectively handles expansion and adaption to the demands of other countries and their consumers.
