- 6 to 8+ years of experience with income tax accounting under US GAAP
- Prefer a mix of public accounting (4+ years in Big 4) and industry (Tech/SaaS)
- Adept at management and prioritization of multiple concurrent and complex work streams
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Well versed on key US corporate and partnership income tax concepts, including: stock compensation, deferred revenue, R&D credit, and state tax nexus
- Demonstrated history of process improvement and automation
- Undergraduate Degree in Accounting or master’s degree in taxation preferred
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Experienced with NetSuite is preferred
- Knowledge of AvaIara, Alteryx or other data analytics tools desirable
- Selfless, hardworking, and detail-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment
What the job involves
- If you are looking to join a small but expanding tax team dealing with various complex Domestic and International tax laws (Direct, Indirect, Transfer Pricing, etc.), then the Tax Manager role at AlphaSense is an exciting role, with a rapidly expanding SAAS company in the AI/ Market Intelligence space
- This person will report directly to the Tax Director (Head of Global Tax) and will be remote with occasional travel to meet with colleagues in Tax, Accounting and Finance
- Responsible for the accurate preparation and review of the US federal, state and foreign income tax provision under ASC740 and FIN 48, prepared by external tax advisors
- Accurate and timely completion and initial review of US federal, state, and foreign income tax compliance prepared by external tax advisors
- Perform and document associated SOX controls for tax accounting and reporting
- Actively participating in projects that have a tax impact throughout their lifecycle from planning, research, modeling, including communication of tax implications to executive management
- Drive continued refinement of long-term income tax model projections
- Capture US tax impacts of mergers and acquisitions
- Actively monitor and analyze US international legislation that may impact our operations
- Analyze and review the tax impact of the inter-company transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy
- Contribute to the success of AlphaSense's transfer pricing process
- Participate in the US / Foreign R&D tax credit study prepared by third-party tax advisors
- Promote continued process automation and improvement via Alteryx, Tableau, and other tools
- Mentor and train other teammates, fostering continued growth of the overall tax team

Having raised a large amount of funding over 2022 and 2023, AlphaSense has moved quickly to double down on its expansion in European markets, opening an office in Berlin to support this. With 2024 seeing investment from Singaporean EDBI, it is now setting its sights on the Asia-Pacific region. As business intelligence will remain key for enterprises as they compete for market share, AlphaSense is well-placed for additional future growth.
