Who you are
- The successful candidate will possess excep-tional organizational, communication, and analytical skills, coupled with a meticulous at-tention to detail
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounts receivable or related financial roles, preferably within the SaaS or technology industry
- Proven track record of successfully managing accounts receivable, resolving complex billing issues, and interacting directly with customers
- Strong familiarity with accounting software, with a preference for experience with NetSuite
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create and manipulate complex spreadsheets and perform data analysis
- Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles, billing processes, and financial transactions
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrating a professional, customer-focused, and executive-ready approach
- Highly detail-oriented, well-organized, and adept at managing multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with remote teams across different time zones to achieve shared objectives
- Comfortable and adaptable to working in a dynamic and rapidly evolving work environment
What the job involves
- The Senior Financial Operations Analyst will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of customer payments, managing accounts receivable transactions, and fostering positive client relationships
- This role will also serve as the primary point of contact for all customer billing and invoicing inquiries
- Through email and 1800-customer support number
- Act as the dedicated point person for all customer billing and invoicing inquiries received via email and phone, providing prompt and accurate responses
- Follow up on overdue payments, proactively address payment discrepancies, and collaborate with internal teams to achieve swift resolution
- Conduct regular and thorough reconciliation of customer accounts, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and accounted for in accordance with order forms and contractual terms
- Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies or issues related to customer accounts with efficiency and accuracy
- Communicate effectively and professionally with customers regarding billing inquiries, payment status, and account details, demonstrating a strong commitment to customer satisfaction
- Provide exceptional customer service, acting as a trusted partner to clients to facilitate timely payments and build strong, lasting relationships
- Monitor accounts receivable aging meticulously and collaborate strategically with key internal stakeholders to align on approaches that effectively reduce outstanding balances and minimize bad debt exposure
- Implement proactive and effective collection efforts, including the timely sending of reminders, conducting professional collection calls, and negotiating mutually agreeable payment plans
- Generate, analyze, and present insightful reports related to accounts receivable, aging, and cash flow to support informed management decision-making and strategic planning
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive operational dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs) to provide clear visibility into AR processes and identify areas for improvement in efficiency
- Identify, recommend, and implement opportunities to streamline accounts receivable processes, leveraging best practices and technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Customer Success, Legal) to implement process improvements and drive best practices within the broader AR function
- Serve as a key point of contact for executive-level communication regarding accounts receivable status, potential risks, and strategic initiatives
Our take
Car dealerships suffer from an inefficiency problem. The paperwork and administration required to complete a sale requires dealers to manage a disjointed set of various software applications. Tekion is offering an enticing remedy - a cloud-based automative retail system that integrates the various software applications in a single infrastructure.
Competition has been strong, with rivals CDK Global and Reynolds & Reynolds offering a competitive raft of features, and benefitting from strong prior relationships with dealerships.
Tekion, however, has nevertheless secured customers for the software in 28 states - likely in part due to the efficiency of partnering with a single growing service as opposed to a disparate spread. The company is sparking interest from the right places too, with partners including GMC, Chrysler, and Chevrolet.
If the founders can leverage their experience at Tesla in improving efficiency, the system could prove a highly competitive newcomer with real potential for global spread. A reduction in processing time and paperwork is a hard proposition for dealerships to refuse.
