Who you are
- 15+ years in technical customer-facing leadership roles, ideally in data infrastructure, cloud, or platforms
- Proven experience leading cloud transformation (e.g., migration to cloud, cloud-native GTM)
- Background with companies like MongoDB, Confluent, Elastic, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Snowflake or similar
- Strong track record of owning and driving consumption, revenue and retention metrics
- Deep technical acumen in data platforms, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems
- Operationally rigorous and data-driven with strong reporting and metric hygiene
- Inspirational leader who can scale teams while driving accountability and execution
- Highly collaborative across Sales, Product,Engineering; natural cross-functional player
- Experienced in customer success from pre-sales through long-term adoption
What the job involves
- Neo4j is seeking a world-class leader to serve as our Global Vice President of Field Engineering. This role will report directly into the Chief Revenue Officer (Chief Product Officer - Interim) and have a global remit
- This role is a strategic and operational leadership position, responsible for delivering exceptional technical success for our customers, accelerating revenue growth, and advancing Neo4j's position as the graph foundation for the GenAI era
- This executive will lead a 150+ person global team spanning solution engineering, solutions architects, and professional services
- They will own all technical aspects of the customer lifecycle, from early engagement and proof of concept to deployment, adoption, and ongoing success
- They will drive technical success of our customers in turn growing our gross revenue retention (GRR), reducing the cost of sale, and building a highly efficient and scalable team, all while supporting the company’s transformation to a Cloud First, GenAI-ready platform
- Own the technical customer journey, partnering with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and Support
- Lead initiatives to drive successful productionization, data quality, and long-term usage of Neo4j in customer environments
- Own the consumption metrics especially for our Aura our managed database offering
- Define and report on technical success KPIs including GRR, deployment velocity, and solution health(DQA)
- Partner with Sales to drive revenue across enterprise and strategic accounts
- Own pre-sales architecture and technical qualification
- Carry a direct quota and drive accountability for technical pipeline influence and deal acceleration
- Lead, scale, and optimize a 150+ person global team across regions
- Increase field effectiveness and reduce cost of sale while preserving customer impact
- Cultivate a high-performing, accountable, and collaborative culture
- Implement best practices in technical discovery, value selling, POCs, and post-sales adoption
- Create repeatable assets, tools, methodologies, and enablement programs to scale field success
- Collaborate deeply with Product, Marketing, Engineering, Customer Success, and Cloud Ops
- Influence roadmap and go-to-market execution to align with field feedback and customer needs
- Champion Neo4j’s Cloud First and GraphRAG for GenAI vision across the organization

Offered as either a self-hosted database or cloud service, Neo4j is a graph database development platform that focuses on the connections between individual data entities. The company is seen as a leader in graph technology with unlimited scaling, which was demonstrated when, in 2021, it produced a record-breaking graph database with over a trillion relationships.
Graph-based data models are now crucial components for AI and machine learning applications, and Neo4j has achieved an impressive number of funding rounds and amassed hundreds of enterprise customers using its product. These include Airbnb, eBay, Lyft, and NASA, the latter of which used graph database technology from Neo4j during the development of the Orion spacecraft.
