Prior experience with C++ development

What the job involves

The Lattice Foundations organization is responsible for enabling Anduril’s software products to reach a new standard of software excellence
We build tools, operate services, define processes, and develop frameworks to allow Anduril’s engineers and operators to execute at all stages of the software development lifecycle with efficiency, quality, and delight
We adapt industry best practices to the complexities of Anduril’s domain, develop new systems when we can improve on the state of the art, and integrate it all into a unitary foundation underlying Anduril’s software development
At Anduril, C++ is core to the development of our vehicle systems
We are seeking to hire a seasoned software engineer to own our C++ development ecosystem
This individual will work closely with other developers in order to promote effective C++ development across the company
Work will include developing build systems, expanding core libraries, supporting new tools, establishing best practices, and more
An ideal candidate would be an autonomous, empathetic, user-focused engineer who is excited to act as a force multiplier for C++ developers across Anduril
Own the C++ development ecosystem, including build systems, tools, and core libraries
Establish & promote C++ best practices across Anduril
Embed deeply with C++ development teams in order to understand their workflows and pain points
Lead high-impact projects through requirements analysis, design, and execution
Work with partner teams to understand problems, identify opportunities, and build consensus
Be an advocate for excellent engineering culture across the team

Our take

Anduril makes hardware and software for defense agencies including the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. Its hardware products include specialist drones with a long flight time and surveillance towers.

This hardware is tied together by proprietary software, the Lattice platform, which uses sensor fusion, machine learning, and mesh networking to integrate real-time data from Anduril hardware and third-party systems into a single, autonomous operating picture. While the hardware observes and detects, the software can make decisions as to the threat level of any anomalies, and so allow for observation and protection of an area or building with minimal manpower.

Anduril closed a Series E funding round in 2022 led by Valor Equity Partners. This funding was used for research and development of its autonomous defense products, such as the Roadrunner, a modular twin-jet powered autonomous vehicle that can take off and land vertically. Variants of the Roadrunner include defensive warhead armed interceptors which are the first drone weapons that can be retrieved after deployment. The company has also expanded to Australia where it is working in tandem with the Australian Defence Force to improve its military technology and infrastructure and is recruiting talent worldwide to support its rapidly growing portfolio of defense projects.
