Role
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in an e-commerce or growth-focused engineering environment
- A strong understanding of modern web technologies (React, GraphQL, Javascript, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3)
- Proven experience building complex consumer web applications with a strong understanding of state management
- Strong understanding of CSS, design principles, and component library creation
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to translate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
- Ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects, and deliver results on tight deadlines
- Experience with React Native Experience with React Native or native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) development
- Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
- Proficiency in TypeScript, GraphQL, and power user of tools such as Datadog
Desirable
- Familiarity with cloud hosting providers such as AWS
- Passion for healthcare and a keen interest in understanding the complexities of the problem space
- Expertise in Domain Driven Microservice Architectures and Micro Front-Ends
- Proficiency in tools such as Amplitude, and Growthbook
What the job involves
- Hims & Hers is seeking a highly motivated, talented, and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our dynamic Flow Platform team
- In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, design, medical, marketing, and analytics, to build innovative features that drive significant growth across all treatment categories on hims.com and forhers.com
- By enhancing the user experience and optimizing acquisition funnels, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our customer base and increasing revenue
- Lead and execute the design, development, and deployment of high-impact features for our flow platform
- Build scalable and performant full stack solutions that drive business growth
- Mentor and develop team members by setting best practices for architecture, coding, delivery, and operations
- Foster collaboration across engineering pods and teams to create reusable, scalable solutions, contributing to architecture blueprints that benefit the entire organization
- Partner with key stakeholders in product, design, infrastructure, marketing, and project management to make data-driven decisions and optimize performance
- Contribute to the technical vision of the Category Growth Engineering pods, identifying and implementing new technologies to enhance security, scalability, reliability, and performance
- Collaborate with backend and quality engineers to deliver high-quality code that powers hims.com and forhers.com
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by actively participating in sprint ceremonies and process refinement
