Who you are

- 8+ years of experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks (Angular 15+ required)
- Deep expertise in state management (NgRx/Redux), RxJS, and scalable front-end application design
- Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, accessibility, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design
- Proven experience making architectural decisions that balance scalability, performance, and delivery speed
- Track record of mentoring engineers, influencing cross-team technical strategy, and elevating engineering standards
- Excellent communication skills, able to influence stakeholders across engineering, design, and product
- Self-starter with an operational mindset who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments
What the job involves
- As a Principal Frontend Engineer, you’ll drive the technical vision, design patterns, and scalability of our frontend systems while partnering closely with backend and integrations teams to deliver seamless, performant features
- You’ll not only write code but shape the architecture that empowers our engineers to move fast and build with confidence
- You’ll set the bar for engineering excellence by influencing coding standards, driving architectural decisions, and ensuring front-end systems are designed for performance, maintainability, and long-term growth
- You’ll collaborate with QA partners to ensure testability and quality are built into every solution, while mentoring engineers across the organization to raise our technical craft
- Architect and evolve scalable, high-performing front-end systems in Angular 15+ that power the ClickUp platform
- Define standards, patterns, and best practices for reusable components, state management, and system performance
- Partner with product, design, and engineering leaders to shape technical direction and ensure architecture aligns with business needs
- Lead initiatives to identify and resolve bottlenecks in performance, scalability, and developer experience
- Champion testability and quality by influencing strategies for unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, guiding engineers on best practices, architectural trade-offs, and new front-end technologies
- Drive continuous improvement in tooling, build pipelines, and developer productivity
- Collaborate across teams (backend, integrations, QA, infrastructure) to deliver cohesive, end-to-end solutions

Clickup provides a set of professional tools for collaborative project management, spreadsheets, document processing and workplace communication which are accessed from a single platform. In contrast to most of the austere, pared-back tools you might find in the workplace, it takes a playful approach, with its programs looking more like fun consumer-focused apps while still being fully-featured.
The company isn't alone in the workplace productivity market, counting Asana, Jira, Slack, and Monday among just a few of its competitors. However its advantage comes from its unified platform which encourages users to stay in ClickUp's ecosystem rather than look outside for other tools. This has led to strong success in its market, with over 800,000 teams using the platform in enterprises such as IBM, logitech and Spotify.

As it grows its footprint in Asia and Europe, where nearly half of its customers are based, it has also unveiled a new version of its platform which integrates AI writing and advanced search tools.
